I think Richard was 40% unstable and 60% asshole. Well Cynthia did say something nasty to walter once in the subway and we know what the other victims' associations were so maybe Richard worked in a typical business oriented building. Look at the way he's dressed...slacks, button down shirt, tie, dress shoes. He kinda looks like a salesman of some sort.

Richard didn't literally skin Mike alive. Dick pulled him into his room, ripped his clothes off, and beat the shit out of him. Mike's clothes were tossed into the hallway, some guy grabbed them, wrapped the body of a cat into them, and put it in the refrigerator.
And no, he didn't do it for "a good reason"--Mike bumped into Richard in the hallway when he was angry, so he flipped out & dragged him into the room. That's the extent of it.
Richard is a dick.
And, yes, Mike lived next door to Joseph, in room 303, and was a collector of pornography.

Kind of. The red light up sign is the same which would indicate it is that very building but there are obviously certain parts that just do not fit, like the birthday room.Watchdog wrote:301, wasn't it?
And isn't Building World only across the road from Henry's apartment?

But you haven't asserted a reason for the other victims being where they are. Jasper and Andrew, yes, but what about Cynthia? "For one reason or another" isn't giving us a reason. You're the one suggesting that there has to be a meaning behind all of them, so it's up to you to provide the evidence which indicates this.
It would make much more sense for Eileen to be in the Subway world as that's where she first met Walter. Bottom line, I don't think there is a common reason or meaning behind them all. It's up to Walter, as the 'dreamer' of these realities to put people wherever he wants or needs them.

No she didn't: He was eighteen years old when Cynthia rejected him, in the subway; and no: he wasn't going to visit his "Mother"--he was living there, temporarily, after having moved away from Wish House.

Haven't you noticed that Richard is the only one who mentioned the hole? He said something like: "That weird hole" (I'm not sure). All of the others seem to have just been in those locations outside Walter's world (not dream world). Eileen, for example, says: "There was no hole. You just dissapeared.".
I mean, Cynthia was at the subway, Jasper was at the forest, Andrew was at the water prison, Eileen was in her apartment (when Walter attacked her), and later in the hospital (where Henry found her).
Richard, on the other hand, was in his apartment, sleeping, when Henry met him in the Building world. Think! Henry wakes up after every hole. Meaning, Henry and Richard came into Walter's world the same way - using the holes. Everybody else was actually there (we see Cynthia enter the subway) But why Richard? That's what I don't understand?

Really, how can you tell that? Jasper came to the orphanage by car. I mean, in previous Silent Hills there were no holes. People can just be drawn to one's (Aleesa's, James') world. That's how they got to Walter's world. In my opinion, only Henry and Richard used holes. Henry was the Reciever of Wisdom (the Apartment=mother), but, again, why Richard?
