Who else thinks it's too short?

Post by Mr.FLOOT »

I got the game Friday but didnt actually start playing untill friday night. Played for just over 3 hours then went to bed, then yesterday I was at work and got a good half an hour play there, and then i managed to finish it in another hour when i got back from work.

My overall play time was just under 4 hours. Too short I think, especially for me buying a PSP just to play it.....BUT i dod enjoy it alot and i'm gonna try and unlock the extras and get the other endings......if i can find out how to do it lol

Yeah, I know the play time is similar to the other, I just thought it was short because when i played the other SHs it took me around 8 hours to do first time around, this game took me less than 4 hours first time around. That's what I was getting at really

maybe its because you are soo familiar with the game's stlye of hunting for random items/ect., that you were able to whiz through this one quickly....for example, it took me over 16 hrs. to beat silent hill 3 (my first SH game and playstation 2 game ever)

That's true. I've just finished it again in under 3 hours with the UFO ending. It's still a good game though despite it's length

No, it's not comparitable to speed runs and nothing to do with knowing the series and how to play it, it's a short game. End of.

I just finished the game in about 5 hours.. but at the same time I didnt' find every single item either. Also I bought the strategy guide that goes with it.. just to find all the hidden things in the game. And let me tell ya.. there are a slue of hidden items in the game. So I'm guessing in all, after looking for all the secrets and hidden items.. and costumes.. and after getting all three endings.. I'd say this game is at least 15 or so hours in length.. give or take a couple hours.. but still it's a good length game.. and you also have to take into consideration... some of the areas you explore are insanely long.. "Sanitarium anyone?" That level was insanely long.. and lengthy.. also if you think about it too.. the story really didn't require for an extremly long game. I mean it was mostly just about Travis's past .. and a bit about Alessa and the cult.. But all in all I'm going to play through this game again and try to get the other endings.. :D I would suggest buying a strategy guide with your game.. it will help to get more out of the exprience in the long run trust me on that

mmm i think we have been skilled, sh1 took me like 20 hr (i had 13 years T_T, it was scary!!!), the rest almost the same, adn the replay it several times (and do somes speedruns for them) make you learn the bascis:

-Explore each room explorable,
-read
-dont walk slow, only cause a bad backgrounf sound is sacrying you (except for radio)
-look the map... alot (my finish results was that i look the map like 401 times xD)
-Dont kill each thing that you see.. if isn't necesary(yeah in 1 and 2, i kill each mosnter in game XD, i remeber that i was near the end in the school, and i return, to the bathroom to kill a children x3)
-RUN!!!!!!(why travis gets fatige TOT, he cant affort unlimited running like Harry "catch me if can" Manson, James "dont look back maria" Suderland, Heater "short skirt,no cold" Manson, and Henry "Funny Run" Townshed u-u

I think too, that the game is short.. because of all the extras in the game.. I mean there are even more costumes in this game.. than sh3 had.. and sh3 was kinda short also.. so was sh1 come to think of it. Origins is just short in length not in content..

I think all SH games are too short, but I love them anyway. ^_^

now that i've beat it a few times, i'm getting pretty fast. the only place where i still get confused is the sanitarium, i still run around and make pointless trips around in there to parts i dont need to go to.

It felt a bit short, yeah. Still spent alot of time exploring as much as I could for extra items and stuff.

It was still pretty awesome.

i beat all the other games in about six hours. this one took me 4 my first play thru. now i do like to explore every room and complete every map, but this game was still pretty short compared to the others, only three levels, and yes, the asylum is the longest one. but hey, its a mental hospital, in silent hill, so every second in there is pretty worthwile. but then again it is on a PSP minidisk, not a PS2 DVD ROM. i was still amazed at the level of detail they put in and a huge amount of extra content still make it worth every moment.

Yes exactly.. it was on the psp mini disc... so they didnt have as much room to work with.. but again they could've at least put it on two disc's.. that way the could've added even more extra's.. then again.. perhaps they're already at work on another sequal to this prequal.. perhaps another prequal to the series.. to fill in the gaps before sh1. The Hotel was kinda long as well.. which added some extra exploring time to the overall gameplay.. :D

It took me somewhere around seven/eight hours to beat origins, but I ususally try to take my time the first time I play through a game. I feel like I got my money's worth with this game.

I haven't played it yet, but now an worried. In each game that I have played of the Silent Hill games, I took atleast 5 hours on my first play thorugh. If it took most people only a couple hours on their first playthrouhg, I may not bring myself to go out and perchase and PSP and the game.

This sucks...I understand that people are individuals and play at their own speed, but...sucks man.
