Why was Walter covered in black?

Wow. That's very interesting... It makes sense too, because that Walter was an apathetic murderer, so Walter would project the blackness onto the part of himself that desired revenge and death against his oppressors and people he deemed as scum (but was obviously guilty for murdering the Locaine siblings). Or perhaps, it could symbolize that he was the 11th victim, and is thus a sinner as well?

I don't know. Any other thoughts?

It might not mean anything. Black represents a load of stuff in Japanese culture, and Silent Hill draws on pretty much every mythology on the planet.

The black "puddle" that Henry had to stare into before the final boss fight. As MMY mentioned above, Walter's body was hanging over it.
