**SPOILERS** Silent Hill Historical Society Website (Official Promotion)
There's a website that's apparently meant to promote SH2 Remake that's supposed to be the "real and official" website for the Silent Hill Historical Society. Neat.

Re: Silent Hill Historical Society Website (Official Promotion)
More importantly, it's loaded with a full ARG game that includes secret pages and a full side-story.
There are 36 secret pages, 7 of which are a secret message from one of the website's staff members. Clues 1-31 and 36 have been discovered so far.

The Advanced Quiz features many questions specific to SILENT HILL 2: REMAKE so they're impossible to know right now. But! some are cool little historical facts about the town.

Re: Silent Hill Historical Society Website (Official Promotion)
Interestingly, there's a Silent Hill timeline section: https://www.silenthill-historicalsociet ... hronology/
It specifically mentions events in the 60s: "The mayor of Silent Hill and multiple figures involved in the tourism industry died unexpectedly one after another." We know that Silent Hill f will take place during this time, so perhaps this is a future connection?

There was a signature here. It is gone now.

Re: Silent Hill Historical Society Website (Official Promotion)
Since the Spoiler tag doesn't work, I'm alerting everyone now this post will contain spoilers regarding the Silent Hill Historical Society story.
Note. The Silent Hill Historical Society (hereon called SHHS) website does not spoil anything, that I'm aware of, from SILENT HILL 2: REMAKE. I have no more knowledge regarding the remake than I did yesterday, so nothing below should adversely affect your experience with the upcoming game.
SPOILERS AHEAD
There are nine characters in this story (10 if you count Mabel's cat, Nala):
• William S. Laver — SHHS Director
• Sarah Hendrix — SHHS Manager
• Mabel Grant — Staff member responsible for preserving and repairing damaged artefacts
• David Brady — Event planner
• Ethan Ninomiya — Staff member responsible for tours and education programs
• Ruby Sinclair — Former receptionist and tour guide; now the Network Administrator (handles website and digital data)
• Felix Crain — Web developer
• Isabel Smith — Felix's aunt
• Unnamed — unknown
The main storyline found in the website is that a staff member, Felix Crain, died unexpectedly on 24 July, 2024. According to the police, he died by accidental suicide after falling off the roof of his apartment building while slightly intoxicated. He was 28 years old.
Felix was born and raised in Silent Hill. He attended school in Silent Hill and, though a few years younger, he met and became friends with Ethan Ninomiya there, who he also works with at the SHHS.
The problem with Felix's sudden death is that people don't believe it was an accident. According to the article from a local magazine, Exclusive Report: The Mysterious Death of Felix Crain — Is There More to the Story? (which is found hidden by Ethan on the website), "There are witnesses who claim to have heard shouting near the scene shortly before the fall."
The safety of the building from which Felix fell has been called into question before. According to that same article above, "Residents have voiced concerns over that the safety measures in place to prevent falls were inadequate."
This all seems to be a callback to the suicides in THE SHORT MESSAGE, set in Kettenstadt, Germany, at the Villa Apartments, where many young people have been committing suicide.
That aside, Felix's death doesn't appear to be a suicide. What we learn through the website is that Felix seems to have stumbled upon something he shouldn't have and his coworkers think he was killed for it.
What we learn is that Felix might have known a serial killer in Silent Hill.
LET THAT SINK IN
The only serial killer we are aware of in Silent Hill's history is the infamous Walter Sullivan. He is even alluded to in the SHHS's website, in its timeline.
Eventually, after scouring the website for Felix's clues, we come across his seven letters (below).
Here's a transcript of the seven notes:
The Felix story seems incomplete from the SHHS website alone. It may be continued in the SILENT HILL 2: REMAKE or even in the final, as-of-now unsolved clues. At the time of this writing, clues 32, 33, 34, and 35 have yet to be uncovered. However, they may be different endings, much like SILENT HILL 2 itself.
BIG WARNING IN SMALL TEXT FOR THE SILENT HILL HISTORICAL SOCIETY WEBSITE STORY
Clue 36/36 is its own Dog ending. Mira was responsible for everything all along.
So, 32-35 could potentially be Leave, Maria, Water, and Rebirth.
I believe the other endings are unavailable for now, though. But! they will be unlocked on 26 September, 2024 (tomorrow) at 10 a.m. (JST) . . . during the Tokyo Game Show.
The SHHS is looking for digital copies of certain artifacts, specifically 1960s-era tourism pamphlets. And it just so happens to have an upload/registration form hidden! When you fill out the form and upload an image (doesn't seem to be an image of the pamphlet itself), it takes you to a menacing maintenance page that I will not include in its entirety here. However, it reads this:
This area is currently under maintenance.
Maintenance End Date
September 26, 2024 at 10:00
That is when the Tokyo Game Show begins.

What we learn is that his aunt, Isabel Smith, died when Felix was 12 years old. Felix was born on 29 August, 1995, so Isabel died in 2007. It's unclear whether Isabel was a victim of the serial killer or if she just knew him. The phrasing "passed away" in connection with "caught up in" implies a familiarity, not that she was a victim.If something goes down,
I stashed the message
on this site
I’m the only one who
could pull that off
~~~
Isabel Smith’s my aunt
She was always all smiles
She got caught up in that
unsolved serial murder
in this town and passed
away when I was 12
~~~
I’m so sorry she left her
little daughter behind
That’s why I thought
I should try to solve
this case myself
~~~
One day,
completely by chance,
I stumbled upon something
unexpected. I found a
person using an alias
He’s the one who saved
my life
~~~
I started searching for
the reason he was using
an alias
Then some facts started
to come together
All I had was a bad feeling
~~~
I was speechless by the
hypothesis I came up with
This person must be the
true culprit in the case
I’m trying to solve
~~~
In the near future,
I gotta hit him with
my conclusion
I can’t even imagine
what I’ll find out

Double-post, I know. My previous post was quite large, though.
Last time I heard anything about [the cult and stuff] was, gosh, years ago... When several people connected with developing the town died in accidents. People said it was a curse.
She was talking about the '60s according to Lost Memories: Silent Hill Chronicle.

No spoilers but just watched the pyramid head intro scene and I think it’s better than the original. Man, feels like I’ve been waiting my whole life for this moment.

Re: **SPOILERS** Silent Hill Historical Society Website (Official Promotion)
We have now moved into a real world email app, so this is more than just a website.
One of the characters from the website has emailed asking for my home address to send me something? Not sure what to expect, but this whole thing is getting a bit crazy haha
Edit: MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD

Tommy and Liam have uncovered a new secret page that strongly hints this is actually related to either a remake of Silent Hill 4 or a sequel taking place in 2024.
I don't know how to embed images or I'd share screenshots.

Very exciting, very neat, this is what I call a really fun marketing campaign.
I also noticed an error in the timeline. In the 1960s section, an entry for 1993 is listed while it should be listed below in the 1990s section.

Eh, that's just how some lists like that get organized. It's to show that the Walter Sullivan case could have happened before or after 1993.
What I find more interesting is that it alludes to the events of Silent Hill: The Arcade, yet ORIGINS, HOMECOMING, and DOWNPOUR have been completely avoided in this revival.

Isn't the reference to Wiltse mine a reference to either Homecoming or Downpour? I feel like that was at least mentioned in one of them.The Adversary wrote: ↑28 Sep 2024 Eh, that's just how some lists like that get organized. Re: **SPOILERS** Silent Hill Historical Society Website (Official Promotion)
The Wiltse coal mine was first mentioned in SILENT HILL 2 in the Silent Hill Historical Society. There's a photo of, what I assume, its entrance. James very briefly visits it during his trip through the Abyss, after jumping down his nth hole: He finds himself in a small cave with an incredibly awful screeching until he gets on the elevator and enters the Labyrinth portion.
HOMECOMING later gives a glimpse of a separate mine found in Shepherd's Glen, though this one is really just a throwback to the Silent Hill film. And then DOWNPOUR introduces the Gillespie Coal & Iron Co., operating out of Devil's Pit, which seems to be another mine in the area.

So is this ARG just promotional material for SH2R, a standalone project, or is it hinting at something bigger like a remake or sequel?
