Are we getting Born from a Wish?

It's true: Bloober Team is remaking Silent Hill 2. Talk about it in here to keep Remake talk separate from the original!

I doubt we get Born from a Wish included in the initial release, but I would be surprised if it isn't released as DLC at some point.

I think a DLC would all be dependent on the sales of the Remake

Born from a wish should already be included imo, but if they decide to do it as DLC, I won't complain as long as the price is fair.

The 'Born From A Wish' scenario was practically DLC to begin with: It was only included in the XBox release or the Greatest Hits edition of SILENT HILL 2 on PS2 (for $20 USD), which many people already owned.

Hell, I drove 45 minutes to Kansas City and back the night the Greatest Hits edition was released. I'd argue that's what we'd consider DLC nowadays.

We had to travel on horse back and 30 miles in the snow to get our DLC, you damn weak ass kids!

I do think we are getting Born from a Wish unless this game just bombs. Horror games aside from ones called "Resident Evil" are an enigma on sales. Alot of indie horror does well, but you get times where an excellent Dead Space Remake under proforms. It's weird. Hard to predict. I hope for the sake of my absolute favorite series that it does well. Back on to DLC it will probably be a slightly expanded version of the original, that we will get a few months after the game. Something like RE4Rs Separate Ways.

I went even further to play 'Born From A Wish' immediately.

My best friend then, who was the other half of DJMonster! and helped run my Silent Hill website Nursery Cryme, and I worked together at Hastings — a midwestern books/music/video store. When SILENT HILL 2: RESTLESS DREAMS was officially released on the Xbox, I'd already beaten the game multiple times, but since 'Born From A Wish' was only available on the Xbox at the time, we "rented" a system from our place of work just so I could play it and he could play Halo. We returned it a couple days later, but, yeah, I had to play 'Born From A Wish. The PS2 Greatest Hits edition was released almost two months later in November and I called shops all around my hometown and surrounding cities to find a copy. A Best Buy in K.C. had two come in, so he and I practically kidnapped my girlfriend-at-the-time at gunpoint and drove there to get it.

I hope there’s a Born From a Wish DLC if it’s not in the default game.

It's integral to understanding the rest of the story, so they better.

If they know what's good for them.

Born from a Wish is far from integral to the story. It didn't even exist in the game's initial launch.

Damn I remember ol Nursery Crime! Forgot all about that. Cool site man. I actually traded in my copy of PS2 SH2 despite loving it to get something new but was a teen so my options were limited. However I got the replay itch and wanted to see how much the graphics were improved on the Xbox. I begged my mother to drive me an hour away to the GameStop that had a used copy, much to her dismay. I think this second playthrough of SH2 and then playing Born from a Wish is where my love for the series went from casual to obsessive. I picked up on a lot of things I missed and was really able to appreciate the attention to detail. So thank you, weird Xbox version!

One way they could incorporate it into the actual game would be after Maria's first death at the hospital have her revive at Heaven's Night and we take control of her for BFAW and it ends with her heading to the Historical Society/Labyrinth to meet James in the cell instead of heading to the Park.

Well, the whole point of how Born From A Wish begins is to show the moment Maria was . . . "born." Maria also probably awakes in the Labyrinth cell after being killed in the hospital — she wouldn't have traveled through the Labyrinth on her own. She's in impossible spaces in both, after all.

No insider knowledge, but I'm convinced this'll be DLC.

Paid DLC does seem like something Konami would be all over.

It's a very short experience in the original game, and the only new location is the Baldwin Mansion. Just like with the remake itself, if they decide to make this into a DLC I think they will extend its length by adding more locations and things to do for Maria.

I think even if the game doesn't sell well we will still get Born from a Wish. The Callisto Protocol received numerous DLC extras that were added even after the game reviewed fairly poorly.
