Re: Are we getting Born from a Wish?
Silent Hill Chronicle, at the top of the Leave Ending section, reads, He leaves this town as a man who has accepted reality. It continues: "James makes his way through the cemetery where he met Angela and leaves the town with Laura."

It's called "Leave". I.E he is leaving the town, what else would it imply.Jonipoon wrote: ↑20 Sep 2024 >No it doesn't. Just because James disappeared doesn't mean Leave is not canon.
Who says that ”Leave” actually confirms James as having escaped Silent Hill? It doesn’t. James is only shown walking through fog in the distance. For all we know, he could still be trapped in Silent Hill.
When I say ”ending that shows James successfully escaping Silent Hill” I mean any new ending that shows or directly implies that James is back in the real world.

How do we know Leave doesn't result in a similar fate for James to Rose in the first film? Able to leave town but not to return to reality?

I think it's implied symbolically that James manages to leave after settling his issue. Granted, he's still a murderer, but it was as if Mary had forgiven him. So writing-wise, and finding onself leaving from the cemetery, which is at the start of the game down the path, suggestive of entering the underworld, it is most logical to infer that he successfully left Silent Hill with Laura and ascending back up again, from a narrative perspective. Christophe Gans rightly saw this inspiration of the Greek myth of Orpheus in SH2. James didn't leave the land of the dead empty-handed. Laura was his redemption, the child he and Mary never had. You could also see it as a parallel to Harry likewise escaping SH with his daughter.

Check it out - on the new Silent Hill Historical website that just popped up today, there are maps of both East and West South Vale. The Baldwin mansion is labeled on the map, which to me is a strong idication that we will be paying it a visit either in the main game or a DLC. https://www.silenthill-historicalsociet ... -data/map/

Or just a reference. There's some other Easter eggs/references that I HIGHLY doubt will actually appear in SH2R.

While that's true, it doesn't ultimately confirm it as a canon ending, as evidenced by Frank's comments in the fourth game. If James is still missing, the most likely scenario is that he's still trapped in Silent Hill instead of having cut off relations with his father. And if he's still trapped in Silent Hill, the Leave ending is either not canon or it doesn't actually mean that he escapes the town completely.
Also, accepting reality is not the same as coming back to reality.

On PS, there’s a “bonus content” option when selecting which version of the game you want to download. I’m certain this is where we will get Born From a Wish.

Re: Are we getting Born from a Wish?
I believe the "Bonus Content" portion of the download is the digital artbook and soundtrack.
Not to spoil anyone's party, any moreso than I normally already do, Born From A Wish was not included for people who have received the game early. Again, though: It wasn't included when SILENT HILL 2 was released, either, so it could very well be released later as DLC.

Re: Are we getting Born from a Wish?
DLC with Laura: it's just a normal sunny day in a quiet town where you play hide and seek with that nasty James jerk, eat ice cream with Eddie, and graffiti kitties everywhere.
I'd really love to see Born From A Wish remastered like SH2, honestly. Mostly because I'm enjoying the little extended bits and areas we're getting in SH2R, and because it's prolly the only way a lot of new people will play it. I'd love a bigger revival, and since Bloober didn't seem to have the same amount of scribbles and hidden bits (so far) as the OG, BFaW would be a great way to bet more people to want to dig deeper, like we all did back in the day.
You were missed. You'll be missed. I am missing you.

Re: Are we getting Born from a Wish?
Maybe, just maybe we'll get Born form a wish when SH2 Remake is available on a Microsoft Console?......
It would be fitting, right?
