Konami is confirmed to be at Tokyo Games Show 2023. Sony will only be sponsoring Indy stuff, but they usually do a stream beforehand.

Konami being there is nothing new, but maybe there's a chance we get a bit more on Silent Hill F.

Crappy?? What are you talking about!! Silent Hill Ascension is going to be the single greatest thing to happen to Silent Hill. Just imagine the main protagonist running away from a horrific monster only for the audience to decide to go LEFT, RIGHT or HIDE and everyone unanimously votes for ... Boaty McBoatface... .......... Apparently it'll be 27 mins. A Nintendo Direct is also scheduled for tomorrow. So there is probably some shared news/announcements happening.

I'm kinda hoping for SH2 tho.

We'll soon find out. My expectations are mixed, low, but not impossible in that we'll see a SH2 trailer in this SOP. But high in hopes that Sony treats SH2 like Hogwarts in that they consider it high profile enough to have its own dedicated SOP... but only closer to release...

I could see Ascension thrown in as a low cost freebie for PS+, therefore guaranteeing participation.

It could also be the case that Konami themselves want to control the marketing, via dedicated SH franchise directs. Konami sucks at these though... Have they ever advertized at the Game Awards, or are they still upset at the fact that Geoff Keighley is friends with Kojima?

Well, at least we got to see Vanillaware's Unicorn Overlord today, so I'm happy.

It would be nice if we get another trailer for SH2 before the year is up but it really is worth reiterating that the gaming industry is a very different place than it was during the series prime. Games take 5 to 8 years to make now, not 1 or 2. Leaks pressured Konami into announcing what they had but it hasn't even been a year since those announcements. I said it back then and I'll say it again, these games were never going to come out in 2023. And you wouldn't want them to anyway, the last thing we need is rushed half-baked products killing the series again.

Bloober seemed to indicate that the game was near complete. Which is believable because it's a remake of a linear game which has very small levels comparatively and they are not straying too far from it. So this is easily a 2-3 year project with all the ground design done. Konami and Sony likely already have a set release timeframe on the calendar which I could guess is early next year. It's just that the industry and Sony today know they can just do a shorter less loaded marketing launch beforehand, and only ratchet it up post release if they've got a certified hit on their hands. Hate to say it, but the days of expos are done and Nintendo Directs are the replacement, and those focus on the more immediate releases. Only other prestige events left for long term teases are the Game Awards.

I was under the impression that was a minsunderstanding based on a translation mishap.

Word on the street (re: a Discord “snitch” server) is that Bloober has been removed from the project and another team has been tasked with completing the game.

Supposing that’s true, development could be stalled, thus the ongoing silence from both Konami and Bloober.
