Re: Soundtrack In iTunes!
I really didn't like the soundtrack. The generic string-sounds really stuck out like sore thumbs, and the whole rock-bass pieces really distracted and didn't do much with atmosphere. Other than that, the other musical aspects were okay. Nothing great nor memorable.
I'm probably not going to buy the soundtrack. Maybe if I feel like starting a huge collection, I'll purchase it.

It was unique to the world of Silent Hill, I enjoyed it while it lasted but I can see why others didn't.

Same here. When it was first starting I thought I would too, but it was decent and I enjoyed it overall.Progmetty wrote:Silent Fantasy wrote:^ Don't worry, that scene is awsome. lol

That said, keeping on topic, I'll wait for a physical copy if one releases or we get that ultimate set of music from both films.

Well, at least this score has more honest credits. One of the things that bothered me about the first one was the entire score was credited to one person not Akira Yamaoka and all but a couple cues are pretty much straight cuts from the game soundtracks. Plus, Revelation had occasional moments that showed how one could meld Yamaoka's original music into a score. "Vincent and Heather Open the Box" comes to mind.

Re: Soundtrack In iTunes!
Has anyone else noticed how MIDI-sounding some of the tracks are? Comparing Promise Reprise (2006) to Promise Reprise in Revelation, the latter one seems like it was made with pretty unauthentic-sounding sounds. I noticed it in theaters too, and it made me cringe
Re: Soundtrack In iTunes!
Isn't there going to be an actual CD release of this soundtrack?

I downloaded it and I want my money back. I mean it's a sound-track, there is sound in it but knocking on a tin can with a spoon is also a sound but that is neither art nor music.

It's true that the first film's soundtrack is better than Revelation's, but the Revelation score has some very nice tracks too.RinoTheBouncer wrote:The perfection of the video games' sountracks and even the first filmSilent Fantasy wrote:What were you expecting?RinoTheBouncer wrote:I downloaded it and I want my money back. I loved the soundtrack of Revelation in the film itself more than listening to it because you don't feel the repetitiveness and total silence in some tracks like you do when you listen to them in iTunes albumgostoneph17 wrote:

Re: Soundtrack In iTunes!
I agree on that. Some tracks keep having the same melody. But, I noticed some cool unreleased tracks as well, such as another version of Never Forgive Me Never Forget me, played when Vincent suggests Heather to have a cup of coffee and also when Heather enters Silent Hill. Another one is a new piano composition, played at the dream sequence when Memory of Alessa creates the fire in the carousel. There is a song (or maybe 2) played during the Armless scene as well. The list goes on...RinoTheBouncer wrote:I loved the soundtrack of Revelation in the film itself more than listening to it because you don't feel the repetitiveness and total silence in some tracks like you do when you listen to them in iTunes albumgostoneph17 wrote:
