Movie Lagging Issues, OMG PLEASE HELP! >_<

Post by Anonymous »

(On Silent Hill 3 for the PC) When I load up the game, it goes through the Konami screens and the "Game May Contain blah blah blah" screen, and then it goes to an FMV sequence. HERE'S WHERE THE PROBLEM COMES IN! The only way to describe it is this - "It's like watching a DVD movie with some annoying kid constantly pressing pause and then play repeatedly". I feel like slamming my head through the wall just to have something else to do, I have no clue what int he world is wrong. I have a 128MB Graphics card as listed, and am above almost all RECOMMENDED requirements. Everything in the game plays out absolutely perfect, just fine. But as soon as it hits an actual FMV sequence it goes into seizure mode again as described above. What in the world is wrong with this and how can I fix it??

Sounds like a frame lagging issue. I'm no IT technician so I'll give you a simple idea to try out. Did you install SH3 onto your HD? If so, try inserting SH3 disc so the FMV plays off the disc instead of your harddrive.

Thanks alot for the reply. *sighs* Well, yes, I did do a full-install which was basically just adding the movies on as optional which I did and yes, they are actually playing off of the first disc which would be the "Play" disc as it were. Any other thoughts? :?

***Message Edit***

I know more what you mean now, sorry I'm tired. Yes, I tried actually removing the movies from my HD and playing them straight from the disc. Noppers, it's still doing the same gawd-aweful play&pause repeating. Umm...any other thoughts? :?:

Hmm... then try messing around with the in-game video options. Like try reducing the resolutions or turn down something that might help improving the performance.
If that doesn't work, then I can't further help you. I have no knowledge beyond that

When I played SH3 on PC it was really smooth though. I think the problems arise because of certain settings or PC performance issues.
