I agree with the Wii part only, it's kind of words of truth only that people who enjoy their Wii's won't agree cuz 'what the hell, I am having mighty fun here dammit so stfu!', that's why a compromise can never be reached in this matter, and who's right depens on pov. Graphics will be bad but at least I will play it on my PSP, and that's thanks to this hardware that it belongs to same epoch. As something can played on Wii can be played on PSP as well

Truthfully, I shouldn't criticize you for having a bad impression of the Wii, that's your business, but I think you have to agree that the idea that "hardcore gamers never play the Wii" is false.Krysta wrote:I agree with the Wii part only, it's kind of words of truth only that people who enjoy their Wii's won't agree cuz 'what the hell, I am having mighty fun here dammit so stfu!', that's why a compromise can never be reached in this matter, and who's right depens on pov. I agree, Hardcore gamers are just that. Gamers. They enjoy a varied type of gaming. I have a PS3 and a Wii, and I am in no way saying that I'm more hardcore than the rest, but I do take an equal amount of enjoyment out of both systems. I think It's gonna be a great overall departure from the style the original games are famous for. This a different direction from a different team built specifically for a different console than the others were.Kenji wrote:"hardcore gamers never play the Wii" is false.
I welcome this game with open arms and visually aroused.

Why is everyone calling phix95 a he? Her Rabbit is pink. And besides if you don't agree with things along the lines of The Wii sucks or SH4 sucks why get so irritated? It's all just opinions people, stop getting so mad about shit like video games, I know I've got more stuff in reality to get miffed about then things that don't even exhist.
On Topic: The games graphics are looking a little cartoonish and I'm hoping that the PS2 versions and PSP versions darken it up a little to make up for their lack of graphical power. The Fatal Frame stuff sounds kinda cool in theory but is too much of a rip off so I don't like it. The psychological questions stuff is the big draw point for me here. My wife had an idea just like it for a game over a year ago and I'm interested in seeing how they execute it. No weapons is unrealistic but I still want to see how frightning or potentially just plain annoying it's gonna be. Hope they can pull it off.

I don't think it's really all that much about making the game super realistic. It's just a different take on the gameplay mechanic of being suddenly efficient with a firearm or blunt object as soon as you pick one up. I mean RE4 had a section in the game where you had NO weapons and no real means to defend yourself(aside from the lanterns), and that was the best part of the game IMO.
I don't see the Cartoonish visuals you are so, I can't really say much there. But I mean come on, A rip off?...I don't see why there are so many people saying that, To be honest there's Fatal Frame, Cold Mountain, Winter, Fragile, and Clock Tower. Take your pick. They're all basically the same in their own way.

I really don't take the Wii seriously either, some people do and I'm not about to name call over it. I just wish Shattered Memories was being developed for the two current gen consoles XBOX 360 and PS3 rather than the Wii. Some people will argue, the Wiimote brings superior gameplay, but I was never impressed by this. I'm glad they are porting it to PS2 or PSP, because if not I would post pages and pages here on why the Wii is a piece of shit. If people here think the Wii is awesome, thats cool but it's really not for me.
It's almost exactly how I felt when Capcom when REmake exclusive to Gamecube.

I've got a Wii and an 360, and whilst I'll admit I play my Wii less, that's only because I haven't got as many games for it. RE4 on the Wii is one of the best gaming experiences out there, I can say without doubt that it would not have been better had they updated the graphics and whacked it out on the 360. (I can say this because they basically did that with RE5 and playing that with all it's shiny graphics in no way compares to the experience of RE4 on the Wii)
It all comes down to how well implemented the controls are, and on RE4 they were perfect. I'm hoping, that since SH:SM has been developed specifically for the Wii the controls will be excellent and if that is the case, then playing this on PS2 or PSP will not compare to the experience of playing it on the Wii.
People need to stop thinking about games design advancement in the terms of graphics only. Look at the amount of innovation that we're being promised in this game; random outbursts of otherworldliness, the evolution of the monsters, the story and characters shifting to match your own profile and play style, the interactivity of the flashlight/camera/cellphone etc. That's a real, genuine advancement in gaming, not just slapping a new coat of paint over an old concept.
I can almost guarantee that half of this innovation would not be there if they made this for PS3 or 360 because they would have had to put all of their time and budget into making it shiny so that graphics whores wouldn't bitch and moan about it.

Give it a chance people! ...or don't.
Just don't complain until you're given a valid reason to...
