Hey, we still got Melissa Williamson doing the locals, and Joe Romersera might come back for another "hometown" or "cradel of forrest" song.Video Gamer wrote:Too bad we don't have anyone else...Jonipoon wrote:We still got Akira on the team.
SH wouldn't be the same without Akira's artistic touch to the soundtrack, so I don't think we need anyone else but him...

:sigh: Your sarcasm, your sarcasm...Mockingbird wrote:>their not officially disbanded.
Oh, right. They're all just doing different projects and no longer working together. My bad. . . .
Whatever...We're fans of this game and know the in's and out's of all of the games. If The Collective is what they say they are: fans, then I'll be pleased. I have faith in them, and Akira will obviously be looking out for them and whatnot since he's doing the audio in Silent Hill 5. Although it is a shame Team Silent is gone, let's give these guys a shot, who knows...they might surprise us. (in a good way)

True, but Akira was always a music and sound-guy, not one tailored to fit storyboard, design, and all the other really in depth mechanics of building a game. I know he was featured as producer for SH3 and 4 but I don't think he flourished under that title--his strongest suit is music.Jonipoon wrote:We still got Akira on the team.

I don't believe he has such strong influence either, but in my opinion the most important thing in a game is the sound/music. Overall, films and theaters wouldn't be interesting if there were no sound in them. Thus, if a game itself is crappy but has wonderful sound/music, you can on the other hand always enjoy the sound/music. BUT if the sound/music is crappy, it doesn't matter how awesome the game is, you will get annoyed by the music and maybe turn the sound off - and where's the fun in playing a game without sound?True, but Akira was always a music and sound-guy, not one tailored to fit storyboard, design, and all the other really in depth mechanics of building a game. So we should be glad we have at least a good sound/music in Silent Hill V.

It was only in response to his statement.
I like what Climax did for Silent Hill: Origins. I'm also glad Akira Yamaoka was no longer responsible for anything but music composition and production. Because Team Silent no longer exists, this, I feel, will be beneficial to the series' liveliness and the fans' livelihood. A new team will be excited to work on something they love--whereas Team Silent would be bored and develop an inferior product.

I agree. I think it'd be the same thing with us fans from SHH creating a Silent Hill game...but knowing how to create the game lol
With that in mind, once again I must say I have faith in Silent Hill 5.

Oh, I agree--I hope you didn't think I was suggesting that I wouldn't be glad if SHV had good music D:Jonipoon wrote:I don't believe he has such strong influence either, but in my opinion the most important thing in a game is the sound/music. And I agree again about the sound/music contributing to ones enjoyment of a game/movie. Resident Evil may not have the most engaging music--more just background ambiance, really--but it manages to be good for what it is. And then there are games that are just as shitty as the music--another Resident Evil game, Gun Survivor I think. Sounds like a cat was in charge of the synth...

Origins was very good considering that a different team worked on it. I mean sure it wasn't as wonderful and emotional as sh2.. but face it different characters have different stories.. and it makes sense that the game might have a different tone to it being that there is a different tone involved.
I keep hearing that this sh5 is heavily influenced by sh2.. please people do not try to copy sh2.. sh2 and all the others were good.. because they were all different from eachother.. and I believe that is trully what makes an sh game good. If they go trying to make every game like 2.. its going to degrade the games to the point where they all look like clones of the others. I for one enjoyed origins, and liked the fact that the character was vague and there wasnt alot told... overall it still had a very silent hill feel to it.
As for sh3 and 4.. they were also good in their own ways.. and the music of course was good in all installments. To say that one is better than the other is a bit inaccurate. Because every creation has both its good points and bad points to them.
