Is $47 a good deal for SH1...case + booklet?

Have you seen Harry's daughter anywhere? Short, dark hair?

I think you might be paying a big too much for it, but if you can't find it elsewhere you might as well get that copy T,T

I hate the fact that some people try selling the game for $99 on amazon when it's not in its original case and doesn't even come with the booklet. I could never find the game out here, but a friend in Florida got it for my birthday and shipped it to me. I don't know how much she paid for it, but even though the booklet's battered and held together with scotch tape in some places, I'll never complain.

Don't ever plan on selling it, either. Xd

I'm not sure if it would recognize non-gh saves, I think you may have to play over again. But then again, I don't know. I'll have to find a copy of SH2 first.

Please don't double post

I got my copy of SH1 a few days ago. It's beautiful. The case is fine and the booklet looks just like new. Couldn't be happier :]

Why does it sell for so much over in America? I got an origional copy of the game, with booklet in perfect working order for £3.99 (including P&P) on ebay, thats like $7/8 :|

^Some are just born lucky. I bought my copy on ebay for $33 without the original case or booklet... :x This week's not my week.

Does the booklet have anything really important written in it?
All alone, cold fields you wander
Memories of it cloud your sight
Fills your dreams, disturbs your slumber
Lost your way -- a fallen knight

Nah, nothing really improtant. It's just that if you have the game, case, and booklet, it's more complete, you know? That's why I was willing to pay as much as I did for mine.

Eh, I'm just glad to have it no matter what amount of money. I'm a die-hard fan. And nah, the booklet is kind of boring...just has controls and such...and a simple prologue about Harry and Cheryl

Think of Italy — which reminds me of California in so many ways — and its chronic inability to form a government. That’s California, with even better food and no parliamentary system.

Eh, I don't want to, though. If I get a sealed version---I'd never play it. It'd be a novelty, collector's item since it'd be so rare.

I think after buying a game several times that emulation is ok.

I did that with FF7 because for some reason I can never keep a copy of that game. I bought it like 4 times.

I just found a used version of SH for 10 bucks. So I got that. I don't care about mint condition, but I did manage to get the booklet. Just not the case.

I never knew of Silent Hill until after I played number 4, but after I beat it, I went to a game store in Iowa city and saw the 3 first ones, but I had no job back then, it's been awhile. But I bought the first one for like 14 bucks, with case and booklet. The first cutscene skips alittle bit and the case has one crack and the sticky goop from the price sticker, but really good booklet. I just know I was sad to not be able to get the other two, and of course the rents wouldn't help me haha

Hell no! That is the same price I bought it brand new. I wouldn't pay more than $10 for SH1. Shit, I'll sell you my copy for $45 if you are willing to pay such a price. That's 2 bucks cheaper than that guy's. What do ya' say?

Let me put it this way... as long as you can afford it, the only time you should care about the price is if you're on the fence. If you really want it, then you'll pay any amount for it and you know it. :P (looks at his many Amazon queries on SMT: Nocturne)

Now, I don't know whether this will or should figure into your decision at all, but Akira Yamaoka has expressed an interest in releasing a collector's boxset of the series on the tenth anniversary in 2009 (MGS recently did it for their 20th). However, that doesn't mean it'll have any bearing in the West whatsoever, especially when you consider that an SH collector's set already was released in Japan (in celebration of the movie) without even a glance in our direction.

So I'm quite happy for receiving it and would gladly pay any amount for it.
That's funny 'cause I got SH1 from an EB Games old games bin. >.>;
