In Silent Hill 3, the nurses you encounter in the Brookhaven Hospital are just regular looking nurses that have extremely pale skin. If you think that the janitor is too human looking, then obviously those nurses just wont make the cutmaddartist wrote:...well at least not in the Silent Hill world. Granted he was rather creative and creepy he just didn't look like a creature you'd find in Silent Hill, he looked too humanoid. none of the other monsters in the movie/games look that human.
does anyone else agree?

I don't think he fit very well.
He was good for a scare if you're trying to frighten an audience, which is probaly why they included him...but he just seemed kind of out of place in the Silent Hill universe.

I reject your reality and substitute my own :]

Well, read the entire thread and you will change that opinion. He fits perfectly within the Sh mythology.ValtielInvoked wrote:I don't think he fit very well.

I'm seriously starting to believe that people isn't actually thinking about how the Janitor fits within the SH universe, but rather complain about him, due to the fact that he wasn't created by Teamsilent.
The humanity of the monsters is so deep rooted within the SH universe that I'm not seeing why the Janitor shouldn't fit. The Janitor works just as the doorman in Sh2. He has a more defined background and you can see the reason in the way he act.

I understand why he's there, but I still don't like him. He's basically the worst from a movie (Being awfully human, has features that just makes him look rediculous and doesn't really seem to have anything dangerous about him) and the worst from a game boss (Being very slow, comes alone and is only in a single scene).
Nothing dangerous? Imagine if the Janitor had got a hold of Rose, maybe he would of covered her in that VD shit!Black Vault wrote:I understand why he's there, but I still don't like him. Well, people must have missed the acid or fluid that appeared around Rose before she ran of. Also, I don't think the red wallveins is cherry pie, so I believe they aren't so healthy either. I think that he possessed more danger then many other creatures. I just wished he could have chased after rose some more, because the thing I feared with Pyramid Head was that he actually walked and appeared slow, but after a long run, he is still close on your tail. Someone moving slow but still fast is what makes you wake up covered in swett...
Well, thank you... after a long downhill in discussions with long time regular members, it's nice to see such a comment. I appreciate it very much.Numb Body01 wrote:Why the hell is everyone so dumb? I'm with Glazarus on this one.

I think he was a perfect and very scary addition to the creatures of SH. When I saw him strung up in the bathroom in the movie I was like "Woah, he got f*cked up". Then when I saw him come crawling out of that stall I was speechless. He looked like something straight out of the minds of Team Silent. The crawling around, the blindness and the screaming... the screaming made me shudder. There was pure torment in his voice.
I believe I read somewhere that Akira Yamaoka liked the Janitor so much he asked to use him in a SH game. So maybe we'll see him again?

^ Agreed. I really liked the Janitor personally, and I thought the concept of decay stemming from him was very well done. Kinda like Valtiel with his valves, really.
And a monster doesn't need to be fast to be mving at 100 mph... Consider PH, Closers or the Lying Figures as some examples of slower monsters.

Then there's the fact that the Janitor infect the surrounding world. His touch is producing veinlike things and where the person is, walls start to produce acid.
His mor dangerous then most creatures in Silent Hill...

I just liked how they did that "FILTH" that came from his touch. Very much how a molested victim would feel about being touched by him. Much more Silent Hill'ish than other monsters i've seen....

Was janitor colin the detective? No, right? I thought they looked the same and unfortunetly I'm at work right now so I cant pop in the dvd and check for myself. I feel stupid asking because I'm pretty sure he's not, now that I think about it but I remember watching and seeing some resemblence.

"Alessa was alone in the world. You know what can happen to little girls when they're left alone."
This is the indicator that the janitor did do something to Alessa, something sexual and harmful. Why else would Alessa be crying in the bathroom stall right after that qoute, becuase the janitor yelled at her and called her names
I personally think the janitor WAS the sexual frustrations and referances that are linked in the second game. He is also on of the 'corruptions' in Silent Hill besides the cult.

I pretty much think he fitted in actually, he created pain and suffering for Alessa and like the other humans in Silent Hill that created pain for her, he suffered in return.
He looked grotesque, the decay that spread over the walls looked really cool and he was generally pretty gruesome. And his punishment was perfect, Alessa would have had to suffer unimaginable pain in that bathroom when Colin the pervy janitor molested her, now Colin suffers in pain eternally. Very Silent Hill if you ask me...
