Did the Swat type people spoil it a bit?

I thought that the swat type didnt seem to fit with the setting, when rose saw them in the school.(Yes, i do know they were the cultists)

(Half-Life 2 reference.) Well, they didn't really seem that out of place to me. Plus it explains why there's lots of crucified bodies everywhere. Plenty of play-meats for Pyramid Head

they are looking for the thing thats cuasing all the darkness to them they see rose as a witch and want to kill her thankfully they didnt have pesticide and when looking for sharon there looking for allesea

They appeared to be miners, not SWAT. I think the carnary (sp?) birds are a reference to when people used to take them down to signal of dangerous gases that could kill the miners. In the movie they where used to alert them of when the Sirens would go off.

well Anna wouldnt have survived the first black out that happens at the school so i wouldnt have thought so she came out of the church after the all clear wich was when cybil was saying WTF?

actualy i think they where looking for supplies. like th rest. the reason there in uniforms was because they went further out than anyone else. thats what i think asell. plus it makes alot of sense. to me

At first I thought the miners were cool but then after learning they were the cultists in miner gear I was very disappointed. After that I thought they were stupid.

Yeah, I thought they were monsters too at first and I thought that was a nice touch, reminiscent of the masked Undertaker Demons in Phantasm... it would have been a nice twist too if PH was a demon who had no compulsion hunting other demons when the mood strikes him (when I was still thinking the miners were monsters, it gave me a chill to think he had eviscerated that guy on the chain-link fence for the fun of it). Oh well, they were just people in rubber suits. what a letdown...

This is what I thought. I can't see why they'd send out 3 cultists to find Anna. Plus, between the time that we see the minors in the school and Anna at the hotel, The Darkness has already been and gone. So are you saying that Anna would've survived it on her own? I highly doubt it.

I loved the Miners, they were like bulldosers, totally tough and mean.
I certainly wouldn't want to be in a fight with one of them, it dosen't matter if your a women they will still beat you up ruthlessly.

They reminded me of the guy at the end of House of 1000 corpses. Which made that look scary.

When I first saw them in the school scene, I thought that they did't look anything like Silent Hill monsters and it - yes - actually did put me off. Most notably - the fluent motion.
Thankfully... they were people. And I liked the idea.

I thought the miners were good characters. Yeah they didn't look like your usual SH monsters, but they were still good all the same. They freaked me out anyway.

They made sense in the movie, because the town was a mining town beforehand... But was it a mining town in the games too? I've played all of the games through multiple times and I dont remember any reference to a fire underground.
