Re: why not Climax?

I liked Shattered Memories as well, but you should also consider that they also made Origins which is arguably the worst entry in the series. It was pointed out in 'the real Silent Hill Experience' that Climax had no idea to write a Silent Hill story, since Origins plot was very badly done and didn...

why not Climax?

Climax has impressed me with Shattered Memories and I'd love to see them do another Silent Hill for the 360/PS3, so why aren't they? it seems strange that Konami would ship the series to yet another unproven developer and that short trailer from over half a year ago did not impress me (though to be ...

Re: The Review Thread

well folks, here's my belated review of Shattered Memories and the finale to my Silent Hill marathon so to begin, do I think Shattered Memories is as good as Silent Hill 1-3? not quite, however going in to the game I tried to keep as open mind as possible and judge the game on it's own merits instea...

serial killer in the woods?

in the woods level, you find a cabin next to a parked truck (the "how am I driving" truck) that has blood on the door, a bloody jacket near it and a trail of blood leading to a hole in the ground (where the killer dumps the bodies?) does this mean that there's a serial killer in the woods?...

Stephen King's IT reference?

I can't remember where exactly, I think it's when you're following Lisa, but at one point on the Silent Hill streets you pass by a Chinese restaurant called the "Jade Palace" I'm too lazy to skim through my copy, but I'm pretty sure there's a Chinese restaurant of the same name in Stephen ...

Shattered Memories save file corruption

so get this, my save for Shattered Memories somehow got corrupt and I was forced to delete it, meaning I'm gonna have to start all fucking over all fucking night I played it, well there was a night wasted there's nothing I can do about it, but I was wondering, has anyone else had this problem before...

Re: replaying Silent Hill 4, thoughts and things I noticed

I liked how as you said you don't go to Silent Hill, but go around the outskirts of it, and other places Walter went threw his life. I also like how cleaver the story is. Being that Walter, and Joesph Schreiber are mentioned in Sh 2,3 but end up being in 4. Kind of a build up to this game. Can't wa...

replaying Silent Hill 4, thoughts and things I noticed

so here we are, the final of the original Silent Hills, this it for my Silent Hill marathon save for Shattered Memories, which I haven't played yet, but I'm gonna take a little break before I play that anyway the first thing I'm struck by with Silent Hill 4 is just how drastically different it is fr...

replaying Silent Hill 3, thoughts and things I noticed

the game is a lot harder than I remembered, the reason is because when playing I always used the special weapons and looking through my old saves I realized I had only played on easy, Silent Hill 2 on normal is a bit too easy whereas Silent Hill 3 on normal without any special weapons hits the sweet...

Re: lookie what I found!

I disagree, the ad is implying that Silent Hill is so scary, it'll drive you insane But the game isn't that kind of scary. There is the theme of nightmare vs. reality but it is sort of underplayed. Harry only mentions it a couple times through the game, whenever he was shifted back and forth betwee...

Re: lookie what I found!

I've seen that before and I honestly thought it was a fanmade thing. It is so out of character for the first game it feels like it can't be real. For The Room, yeah I could see that but SH1... eh, not the best marketing out there. I disagree, the ad is implying that Silent Hill is so scary, it'll d...

^Rosehip and mint is the only way to fly, my friend. The only way. Just so this post isn't spam: I think what Thom wrote is incredibly likely, but I have my reservations about it for some reason. I really wish that writer wouldn't have thrown that "Does that mean Mary's in the trunk?!" in...

Re: replaying Silent Hill 2, thoughts and things I noticed

also I noticed that if you try to go back to where you encounter your first monster and find the radio, a gate is closed with police tape across it There's a theory on that one. Might be fanfic because it uses the whole "do they look like monsters to you?" talk, which was used in SH3 that...

Born from a Wish - a little meh?

what are your thoughts on Born from a Wish? replaying it I was surprised at just how short it is and story wise it does little more than reveal that Maria is not exactly human now I don't think it's bad or anything, exploring the Baldwin house is fun (though it could've used a little more Billy, Ale...
