Re: Gramophone and rocking chair symbolism

I get really uneasy around the rocking chairs that are moving in this game, because it makes me think of a moment in the original Alone In The Dark where you walk into a room with a chair where a ghost is sitting...except you don't know he's there unless you get close to him and he kills you instant...

Re: Scariest Moment of the Game

^The Gramophone sidequest haunts me. I once climbed into that apartment to escape from the rain thinking it was The Room homage, and when I realized it was where I had done that sidequest I thought "...I'd rather be outside and take my chances with the monsters." ;) Also, this isn't so muc...

Re: There's no such thing as stupid questions ... Downpour F

I've got a question I'd like to get some thoughts on... In the character gallery the drawing of Carol (Murphy's ex-wife) has her in a hospital gown. Maybe I missed a memo somewhere in the game, but is it ever mentioned that Carol was sick? I know it probably has no significance to the story, but it ...

Re: There's no such thing as stupid questions ... Downpour F

3. Enemies defending instead of attacking? I noticed that at times some of the enemies you encounter on the streets of Silent Hill seem to back down if you approach them. I remember reading a post someone made about this a while ago, and he thought it was a glitch or something. Could it be that som...

Re: Scariest Moment of the Game

I don't think this will get me a third time (...it might), but I just finished my second playthrough and: In the prison you have to open a door by pressing a button on a control panel, and when you turn around to leave you get a flash for a few seconds of a mob of prisoners running at you and yellin...

Re: Anyone ok with Vatra doing another Silent Hill?

I think the game was bar none, the closest thing to the originals in atmosphere and storyline. The only thing that truly needs worked on, are the techical issues and framerate issues. If Vatra can find better quality assurance testers, then they'll be doing alot better and just may, create the best...

Silent Hill 1 commercial

I used to frequent this forum, and I had to come back here when I saw someone else had posted about the same thing back in 2006. The reason I picked up the first game when it was released was because I had seen a commercial on tv for it. It was a television plugged into the wall of a padded room, fl...

I was 17 (back in 1999, when it was first released). Was hooked from moment one.

I can't wait to see them in the context of the game.

I'm especially curious about Travis.

I didn't find the movie scary at all, and I have a very weak stomach for horror movies usually. I don't even know if I would call it disturbing, but that might be because I'm so desensitized to the Silent Hill type of horror. Maybe the part after Rose has the run in with the janitor in the otherworl...

The gossip hound in me is totally curious about Mary/Maria's VA. And Guy looks pretty good to me. He kind of reminds me of David Anders.

I would kind of like to see the characters have an emotional breakdown... You don't see that too often in games... I think Silent Hill is doing just fine on the characters having emotional breakdowns front. And I think this whole topic is more a question of your willingness. After all you're the on...

Some fans, I guess fans, went there with a camera and recorded some footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lat67vuhaL0 It's like the town in the movie "Nothing But Trouble". :D These people are idiots. The trying-so-hard-to-be-dramatic voice overs make me want to stick forks in my head. ...

Their all the best in their own way. (except for SH1 cuz I havent played it yet :P) as in Silent Hill 2 wins for most psychological, SH3 wins for most Interesting storyline, and SH4 for most gruesome and repulsive... all im my humble opinion :P Exactly. The word "best" implies some sort o...

I'm just excited for next-gen Silent Hill in general and honestly...can you blame The Collective for trying to keep it safe for US? The fans? I did read what you wrote in your last post. You said that Lisa wasn't dead and she wasn't alive.
If you want to believe that Lisa's drug use had nothing to do with the things she was seeing at the time she wrote her diary, then that's fine. I don't agree.
