I do find it interesting that there are people who really believe that Eddie's death was Murder. What was James supposed to do? Talk to the crazy until he calmed down? It wasn't going to happen. Sure, he could have tried to incapacitate him, but James isn't trained in attacking people. If someone is...

I don't think any less of James for choosing Maria. We all make decisions based on our personal truths and delusions. I think part of your interpretation of this ending comes from your interpretation of James killing Mary. Was it assisted sucide (though still murder), to put Mary out of her very pai...

Okay... I've been saying that too.

Thanks for the post, Ryan. We should make a collection of "STFU" threads.

I meant that in nothing but love St. Thomas.

I don't know what you'd expect: Everything in Silent Hill 2 happens . The events were not "just his insane interpretation of a random ghost town," but rather the manifestations of his guilt & contrition. Exactly. The town manifests the guilt of James. It makes it whole and tangible. S...

You just beat me to it.

Man..I gotta stop taking pictures and write mini essays on PH instead.

The letter doesnt really exist.
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
as the game goes on, the writing on it begins to disappear, and eventually the letter will be gone altogether (or at least the writing on it
the letter existed at one time, but now all that left is a manifistation of the 'letter' in james' crazed mind.[/spoiler]

The people in the town are not dead. I don't see how anyone can call themselves a fan of Silent Hill and resort to that sort of Shyamalonian plot twist nonsense. After four games, you guys are going to question that people can vanish into the foggy world and still be alive? We've seen it for about ...

Also: If they were already dead, why would Alessa kill them again ? That just seems silly to me – Alessa kept them alive, tormented and trapped them in a world at her mercy until she could exact her revenge. Agreed. Also, when Rose and Cybil find Anna she tells them her mother needs food, she is ...

if you have no knowledge, or refuse to admit you are dead, you can still feel pain, etc.

He'll be talking to himself. but with this ending we are assuming he is chosing to stay in his delusion, to stay in the foggy silent hill. With Maria being 'alive' in his mind, he isnt going back to the real world.
