Re: Theories on the Orphanage (Spoilers, obviously)
^The dead of the child remembered him of Charlie's. Like Murphy couldn't do anything to avoid those two events. Also, his Boogeyman is Napier

Re: Monster / Character / Location Symbolism
umm, Boogeyman is Murphy and Napier. The game does show you thatCandyLander wrote:we barely know anything about howard. As far as I know, he could be the boogeyman (I don't know, the game didn't tell me who on earth that guy is)
Also, while we don't know much of Howard, Past Life gives us a little bit of his story

Re: So the paint of the little girl in red...
Yeah, she must mean something. Otherwise they wouldn't put her face all over town. Would they? I can remember the painting inside a few houses, the library and the church. Actually, I think the painting is just part of the scenery. In the same way other paintings and objects are repeated all around...

Yep, He hanged himself where Murphy saw him jump.Yuki wrote:It's been confirmed that the Aristocrat was supposed to be Sater. I'd suppose what we saw of him was like an Otherworld recording rather than the real thing; didn't the train incident take place ages ago?

Re: Screamers theory [unmarked Past Life spoilers]
I still think the screamer is just murphy's ex-wife :p I disagree with Screamers having anything to do with Carol, if only because Cunningham and Ricks both are attacked by them. There are also an awful lot of Screamers out there. I think that when you're close to someone, you can get into this per...

Re: clothing
what if you get to the caves with your priston outfit...can you do it? Like, getting to the caves without getting the badge in the first place You have to change to the green shirt if you wanna progress with the game (it has the key to open the next fence door). Once you do this, however, you can w...

So sorry, I think I didn't explain myself. I was refering the ending of the movie, where Sharon and Rose return to their home but there's still fog around.

Re: Rumor: Peter Outerbridge as Travis Grady
Travis, huh? If it's true he's in the movie, maybe he was the one who got Alessa out of the foggy world. That's the only thing I can think of Do you mean Sharon? If so, the dark side of Alessa delivered the baby to the 'real world.' Oh, right. it was Sharon. Has it been stated Alessa did that? that...

Re: clothing
I wonder if anyone has found out yet, but not only can you put your prison jumpsuit back on, but after completing a certain side quest (there may be more, I only did the one) that you can wear yet another outfit (blue hoodie). does this affect anything beyond what murphy looks like? So far, nothing...

Re: Monster / Character / Location Symbolism
I view The Void in a much different way than the posts I've seen in this thread. I'm not saying that said posts are wrong. In fact, they make sense. My personal view of The Void is a bit hard to put into words; I see it as the actual Void of existence. An entity created where reality & un-reali...

Re: Theories on the Orphanage (Spoilers, obviously)
I think the orphanage represents Murphy's morality. He grew up in an orphanage, probably was taught there the difference between right and wrong. When he gets there St Maria is in ruins with constant earthquakes slowly destroying the whole building, it's crumbling, just like his morality after the ...

I just started another playthrough (it's 4:50 am here and raining -- perfect for Downpour!) and there's something I've been wondering about -- what's the deal with the prisoner corpses scattered around town? Are they just manifestations of Murphy and/or Anne, or survivors from the bus crash who esc...

Re: A satisfying conclu- hey, wait a minute
I'm glad they made him portrayed as close to a vegetative state as they could by using a button. If he had been actually rolling it with his arms, then that would have been a major turn off from his movement, then. Also, I didn't see this above but...@thy_butcher: I believe that's totally it. It's ...

Re: New monsters from the trailer
Bogeyman is so cool when you know what he actually is after finishing the game. I love the design too. Sure it's not a surreal thing like PH but that's kinda what makes him cool. No matter what they did with him everybody would have screamed 'Pyramid Head ripoff!' like they did with the butcher if ...

Does anyone have any idea as to what was up with the two coins that JP tosses into the Devil's Pit? I can't find anything significant with them, other than JP contemplating suicide. The only thing that I can think of is the greek burial with the two coins on the dead person's eyes. This was done as...

Re: Which Ending Was Your Favorite? *SPOILERS AHEAD*
I think I'm the only one which favorite ending was C. Sure, I felt horrible for Murphy's fate, but there's something of this ending that's intriguing and mysterious. Then, I'll have to choose B and Reversal. I actually disliked A too much, it's was WAY a "they lived happy ever after" ending.

I think the little boy is supposed to represent both Charlie and Frank. He even calls the little boy and has flashbacks of his death when the little boy is killed. However, the way the little girl (who makes me think is supposed to be Anne) says, "You killed him! He never did anything to you!&...
