Re: Is Downpour scary?
For the majority of the game I didn't find Downpour scary really, but what surprises me is that Vatra was still able to create such an engrossing atmosphere. Like stated above, places such as the movie theater, St Mary's and the otherworlds themselves were executed really well to the point where I f...

Re: Got Downpour? Want to share impressions? Post them here!
Is it normal for monsters to run away from me? Some of them were doing that to me too. They were nearby, and they wanted a piece of Murphy pie, but when I stood there waiting for them to get close enough to clobber they just sort of...stood there and circled around, backing off each time I walked t...

Re: Scariest Moment of the Game
Oh guys! I found another really freaky part for me, and it's very early in the game. It's when... You're about to go through the gate to turn on the generator. Before you make it even to the gate, you'll hear something moving behind the building. If you look, you see a dark figure move really quick...

Re: Weapon Realization
I also found that quite odd. I mean you can only carry a melee weapon and a firearm or just two firearms/one melee weapon, whereas you can stuff a horde of first aid kits and side quest items in one of Murphy's bottomless pockets.

Re: Downpour Review Thread
I got it on the PS3 and I played through it just fine. The frame rate slows down and might freeze a little when the game autosaves and due to the engine they use it will sometimes take a couple seconds for textures to load, but all and all I didn't have any real problems with it. I've been hearing ...

Re: Downpour Review Thread
I'm kind of worried here, so I have to ask: Is this game playable and even remotely enjoyable on the PS3?
I've been hearing some terrible things about tech problems on the PS3 version and just have to know before I go out and buy it.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories Soundtrack Preview
A good sneak peek at the upcoming soundtrack:

I'm loving Mary's vocals in the two last songs, btw.

Re: When Did You Give Up On Henry?
Major bump. But, I "gave up" on Henry when I started becoming more interested in Walter. He kinda had the spotlight for SH4 which is something I found odd back when I considered the the main character the person you were playing.

March? Damn. That's a ways off, but I also heard the HD will drop sometime in January so I can replay the classics to get my fix.

Re: The NEW pyramid head
But, guys like TwinPerfect... outright referred to people who like Shattered Memories as retards in one of their videos. Talk about hypocritical. That's when their credibility took a nose dive (amongst other things). Didn't they also imply that it had no story? LOL  But what's funny is that e...

Re: Silent Hill Downpour Appreciation Thread
I'm looking forward to Downpour seeing that Shattered Memories actually wasn't that bad of a game. I also get a certain vibe from Downpour that both SH2 and Siren: Blood Curse had. I'm pumped and ready to give it a go.

I too am glad that this isn't above and beyond in the ratings. Gives me a sense that subtlety is playing a factor here. Hope that's true, anyways.

Re: 40 Minutes w/ Downpour – Thoughts, Video & New Screens
I'm loving what I see so far! And the part in the basement when the music stopped actually had me spooked. That and the otherworld looks interesting which was something I couldn't say about Shattered Memories. Keep the good stuff coming, Vatra!

Re: TGS TRAilLER (coming soon) and KORN SONG (in the topic)
I'm loving the new trailer! Except for the Korn song of course. And it doesn't look like there's a bunch of action as some people are mentioning. It seems as if the Korn song is just making the game seem more action oriented given the song had a hard-rock edge.

Re: Ito's Japan boxart revealed
Am I the only one who doesn't think it looks good? That's not a defense of the American boxart. That's not good, either, but this doesn't look any better or less generic. I agree. The first thing I thought when I saw it was "man, he must have just pulled some sketch he did out, slapped it into...

Re: "New" horrible trailer, with ridicolous boss
I liked what I saw. The boss was so freaking weird looking that it's starting to become a little creepy. Never saw that coming. But this is from a year back? God knows what changed since then. And also seeing that this wasn't supposed to be released, I guess it's a bit of a SPOILER!

Re: New Downpour Details
I always wanted to revisit the prisons in SH 2 and 4 (although the latter would be irrelevant) as well as Midwich Elementary. Hospitals are getting old, seeing that they're used in every other horror game nowadays.
