Re: noisy hill

Oh my god, Noisy Hill. It's so amazing. I'm sad that we'll have to wait until Downpour for any new episodes, once SM is finished with. :(

I'm always saying, "My name's James, but you can call me James! It's short for James", that like...being my name and all. Yeah, I'm a loser.

Re: [Seriously] I think I know the final twist

Ooh, I hadn't really thought of all that! I had Alex and Travis in mind more than James, but I guess your mileage may vary all the same, because I didn't really have a hard time empathizing with James either - even after I'd realized what he'd done. I think it'd still be possible to empathize with a...

Re: [Seriously] I think I know the final twist

I kinda hope Murphy is a rapist or a pedophile, I'd like to see a change from the nice-guy protagonists who were ~just the victims~ and didn't really seem to deserve being punished. At least make us feel more conflicted about Murphy. If nothing else, it would be more interesting than the old murder ...

Re: What is the most nightmare-like location in Silent Hill

Being locked in a teeny little apartment with a serial killer watching you all the time is pretty nightmarish, tbh. But yeah, the second-time apartment world. The ghosts following you around from room to room, the abundance of twin victims and bottoms...and the squirmy hamburger-walls, of course. Th...

Re: What scared you about SM?

What scared me? The sheer mindfuckery of the plot, and the overall feel of being trapped inside a nightmare, where everything is totally...beyond your control, I guess. SH1 had that as well, you never knew if you were awake or dreaming, what was real or not. SM was emotionally exhausting, and freake...

Re: OST tracks and the cutscenes they play in?

Wow, it's been ages since I've checked this thread, and a lot has been added since then! Thanks for all your help, especially angel and cyborg. Do we have all the locations for SH4 tracks yet? I was going through the OST again the other day and a lot of them have me stumped. Hard to focus on the mus...

Spare exam room key in SH2?

So, this isn't really a problem, just a bit of a curiosity. I'm running through Silent Hill 2 on PC for the first time, going for the in water ending, and after finishing up in the hospital, I realized that I still had an exam room key in my inventory! It's the one that you find in the pocket of the...

Re: How did you feel when the game ended?

I was just wondering. :P

To be honest, I'm TOTALLY lost about these sort of things, and I was just trying to force it to make sense in my mind. But now I've thought about it some, I see that it is another universe. Either way, I like it.

Re: This game isn't a remake etc, let's clear this up.

If you think of it, is it really a re-telling OR a re-imagining?

It's more like, playing off of what could have happened after the Bad(+?) ending of SH1. Whichever it was where he's dying in the jeep. xD

Uhm yeah. It totally screwed me up. Complete mindfuck.

I still don't understand most of what happened. D: Continuing from the worst SH1 ending?

Oooh, lots of helpful stuff.

All those techniques for the water prison world are reallllly confusing, though. x__x;; And actually NOT running into her? xD But I'm so impatient!

Re: Done with SH 2

Silent hill 2 has more of a " personal" emotiveness to it. It focuses more on the characters, rather than the cult and alessa. It drew me in that way. Yeah! That's it! The cult stuff can be so friggin' boring. Like we GET IT, they're evil. They tried to merge the cult and personal charact...

Re: SH4: Keeping Eileen alive for dummies, please?

Ooh, that's very useful, thank you. The outside section of the Prison World seems difficult though, Eileen NEVER seems to want to follow me properly when Walter's trying to shoot both our heads off. x_x

Sounds like a lot of backtracking though, what a pain!

SH4: Keeping Eileen alive for dummies, please?

Okay so, I've gotten the 21 Sacraments and Eileen's Death endings, since they're my favourites, and now I'm ready to set out getting the other ones I realize that...I really am no good at keeping the poor girl out of harm's way. Does anyone have any tips for someone who's absolutely terrible at esco...

Re: Does Anyone Else Get a Certain Feeling From This Game?

I think it is mostly the graphics, they leave so much to the imagination and you can never tell for sure what's going on.

SH1 also did not hold back on the scares and plain old western-style horror. oxo

Re: Least Favorite OST Tracks

Oh, yuck. I just heard SH3's Hometown for the first time in a while, I forgot how much it sucks. I only like one song that the creepy vocalist sings, that's Cradle of Forest (and it STILL sounds creepy with him singing it, jeez). I hated that song, when I finished Silent Hill 3, I heard Hometown (j...

Re: Mary's Disease Model

All these people saying they nearly vomited seeing that pic... boy, am I jaded. I'd be tempted to say it's some severe case of melanoma, based on the welts in the picture, as well as the fatality of the disease and the purported nausea and pain. But then, MD PENDING. Would that explain the coughing...
