Re: Silent Hill 5: Cons (What you don't like)
Didn't really like fighting the Order members, and didn't like how it says "Turn off your flashlight and enemies won't see you" only seems to work on Nurses, so that tip was pointless. Also i'm not a big fan of the multiple ending thing, I usually like a solid canon ending, but from what ...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
Why is it scary? American companies make some great games, and American designers are more likely to be perusing this forum for ideas about what the fans want. Without the language or cultural barrier in the way, I'm highly optimistic. These aren't American developers. It's a combination of English...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
In terms of development team, yes. Higher up in the administration, Japanese people will be doing things with it, but it has nothing (at all) to do with how the game turns out.Huh? Radio? wrote:Won't this be the first 100% non-Japanese Silent Hill game?
Very strange (and possibly scary) thought.

Re: The New Otherworld, Creepy Little Girls, and Tall Monste
More animal type creatures would be nice. Or maybe creatures with a Giger-esque bio-mechanical look. I'd like there to be a lot of variation in creature shape and size. The Pendulum was fairly mechanical, and it was pretty creepy too. I think it would be awesome to have more bio-mechanical type thi...

Re: The New Otherworld, Creepy Little Girls, and Tall Monste
I hope they don't compromise too much. Too much compromise makes something bland. Extremes can be very interesting, even if they cause extreme schisms (*ahem*) in the fan base.

Re: Silent Hill 5: Cons (What you don't like)
I also found stupid the development pictures in the loading screens; I think I wrote something about it here... The thing is... If the only fail of the game would be the development pics I wouldn't complain about it but... It is just a plus besides all the other things that annoy me so much... It's...

UndeadFishtank . Spreading his hate for the Homecoming game since 2010. You have 109 posts, like 100 of 'em are for this thread, right here. You hate the fuckin' game, we get it. We already got it, and we will get it again. Do you know what it looks like? That you feel the need to bitch about somet...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
Because I want a new storyline that I don't have to struggle to get to through shitty gameplay. I've only played The Room, 0rigins and Homecoming a totally of like 20 times because the gameplay is so awful. Huh? 20 times is a small amount? I've played Origins, Homecoming and Shattered Memories a to...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
>if it's grown since then, it could definitely reach a size big enough for a subway/tram system< Lawrence, Kansas has a population around 90,000. I can get nearly anywhere in town with a ten-minute drive or a twenty-minute bike ride. There's no chance in hell there will ever be a subway system here...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
30,000 isn't THAT small, and if it's grown since then, it could definitely reach a size big enough for a subway/tram system to be implemented. No, it's definitely not THAT small. But it depends on the point of view, really. If you say, a city with 30,000 inhabitants isn't to small to host a theatre...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
>I don't think Silent Hill is a small town anymore.< It definitely should be. "Silent Hill, the setting for the story, is a rural town located somewhere in northeast America. Its chief industries are tourism and, to a lesser extent, agriculture. It is a small town with a population below 30,00...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
Still, although optional content is great, I kind of wonder how there could possibly be a lot of "sidequests" in a Silent Hill game. It does sound a little odd, but I don't think we'll be getting sidequests in the traditional sense. Y'know, talk to an NPC, fetch or kill something, then re...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
Obviously, our main man Murphy has a relationship, yet subtle as of now, to H2O. Maybe he was taking his little brother out to the lake one night and saw something that daddy had given him and tried to get it away from him, and ended up breaking the kid's neck and pushing him out of the boat. THAT'...

Re: Silent Hill 5: Cons (What you don't like)
loading screen Did anyone else notice that they didn't even re-render the images they used for the loading screens? They all still had his mid-development haircut. I mean, that's just lazy. They probably thought no one would notice. Better yet, did anyone even care? Seriously, we're complaining abo...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
And as another example to throw out, God of War III along with its previous iterations always used fixed cameras/rail cameras and those pulled off amazing directed visuals. A similar game to the God of War series is Dante's Inferno, which also made use of fixed or rail cameras throughout the game. ...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
How about camera control in large and/or open areas, including hallways, fixed camera in constrained areas such as rooms, and a more implemented first person view available when exploring the rooms. As in a first person view where you are allowed to walk around and pick stuff up, but not attack, etc...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
^True, but in some cases it felt effective, but I could be wrong. I just remember looking on the back of SH1+2 and it said "pressure sensitive." How they implemented that is beyond me. Yeah, I don't see it on 1, 2, 3, 4, or Homecoming, but you may have a different version! I'm not doubtin...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
That's just button-mashing, something that's been around forever. Sometimes, I'm not even sure if it's real, and we've just been conditioned to do it even if it has absolutely no effect... :? Like the "door close" buttons in elevators. It only works in emergencies, with a key. It's just t...

And perhaps how 1-3 did with pressure sensitive instances. What do you mean by this? I've seen it mentioned in this thread a couple other times, but I don't remember any pressure-sensitive QTEs/button-pressing in the first three Silent Hill games. Maybe I'm simply misunderstanding. Can anyone eluci...

Re: Silent Hill: Downpour is Official
You know, the graphics in those scans look pretty good. The whole setting seems much more realistic (in comparison to SHH). That's a good thing; in order for a game like Silent Hill to work properly, the environment needs to be realistic. Many people say that a basis in surrealism is the best thing ...
