I really liked the way the otherworld (the nightmare realm) looked in the game and the transition scene was beautiful. Though I think I'd prefer the tradition SH flashlight over a hand held one. It just seems more natural that the character would hold the weapon with both hands. Except for the pisto...

^ No I haven't. You really should. It's one of the best gamecube games out there. Anyways, in the story, the main character, a woman named Alex, is trying to solve the death of her grandpa. Though the actual storyline takes place over the last two thousand years. Using the Tome of Eternal Darkness,...

Re: Playable Flashbacks?

This idea sounds similar to the way Eternal Darkness played out and it worked great in that game. There are many unexplained events in the history of Silent Hill, such as the diseappearance of the Baroness. So a game where you play through the current and past events of Silent Hill would be interest...

I don't think it was random location. You can see bullet holes all over the walls, thousands of them. And that shopping trolley. How about Eddie trying to kill mockingly laughing faces at the walls? It doesn't fit his pattern. He shows a steady progression in his madness. Although, did Eddie ever s...

I think some of the monsters are real people. Mainly the scrapers, missionairy and Leonard. The rest are just constructs. As for the dead people that she runs into (the dead girl at the beginning, the guys in the hospital, Danny in the haunted house), they are likely just illusions added to mess wit...

I think Heather will eventually be as strong as she was but it'll take a lot of time. She's spent the last seventeen years trying to buy every memory of being Alessa, which includes how to perform magic. And there was one time during the game, in the office building, where she cast that spell, "...

There was a lot of sexualized images and monsters in SH2, but it was general femine in nature, like the nurses. So I don't think they'd use a penis for Pyramid Head. Now if this was SH3, then it wouldn't surprise me. :P

To me, a couple did kinda look like distorted images of sexual organs, so I placed those over on the sexual side. The card he flipped over for me was a hand pointing a gun at me. Which I thought was funny because guns often equal phallic and/or sexual imagery. Then he went on his diatribe about sex ...

On the Bioware issue, it's common for them to include the possibility of same sex couples in their games, such as Jade Empire, Mass Effect and Dragon Age. As for having a gay character hurting sales, Bioware rpgs and the fable series is pretty popular. Also, you need to look at the audience Silent H...

I don't mind Pyramid Head (or different versions of him, like the Boogeyman) being used throughout the series. He is a part of the cultic lore of Silent Hill, so having him around from time to time makes sense. However, they should avoid over using him. Since he was in the movie and Homecoming, it's...

I can't say this is done on purpose but the echo message where the guy is trying to get his son to kill the deer reminds me a lot of the scene in Silent Hill Sinner's Reward where the protagonist has a flashback to his dad making him kill his dog.

I wouldn't mind a type of Pyramid Head in other games, but it shouldn't be in this one. Let a few more Silent Hills come out before you bring him back.

So if we can rule out leprosy because it is curable... Then what does Mary have? Facial Syphilis ? It's generic disfiguring disease #3. :P Yeah, I don't think we're supposed to know what it is. I do find it interesting that it's only on her head and neck though. A few more pics (click for larger): ...

^I think they should come up with a new "executioner" rather than recycle Pyramid Head. I agree with Nanayashiki: The Pyramid Head we know and love was a creation of James; therefore, just HIS interpretation of what the "executioner" looked like. That form of the "execution...

Actually, Pyramid Head is capable of being in the story even without James. He was originally thought of by the cult, so if your character knows about the history of Silent Hill or is a former cultist, then it'd be pretty simple to stick Pyramid Head in his story somewhere. No. Just... no. It's pos...

It could be set during the civil war when the abuse of prisoners and executions were at their highest. That would be enough negative energy then for a small scale otherworld to form. I'm pretty sure Alessa's burning was just the first large scale switch to the otherworld, not the only. I agree. Ale...

I like both Vega and Snake's Silent Hill LPs. It's great that Snake is doing one for SH3. It's just too bad he died so early in the dream sequence. His LP for Fatal Frame and Bioshock are pretty awesome also.
