Re: I think it would have been great if...
and Alex being a soldier was the premise of Homecoming. Silent Hill isnt suppose be taken at face value. Almost everyone regards that as a BAD MOVE, though, considering it was both a hokey twist and a waste of a perfectly good premise. Silent Hill has never disregarded it's own premise until Homeco...

Re: Vatra closing?
I personally like to assume since the town was inhabited by Native Americans that the Otherworld was based off their spiritual powers and harnessed whenever settlers tried to take their land. That being said I wouldn't mind seeing a old-timey Silent Hill, back when the town was being constructed or ...

Re: Anyone ok with Vatra doing another Silent Hill?
I wouldnt mind them doing another game, But i would like it to go back to silent hill roots maybe something like silent hill 2 atmosphere. isn't that like 90% of all silent hill fans' dreams? I really hope they make another silent hill. Very much so because they are learning from their mistakes and...

Re: Homecoming vs Downpour
I think Downpour by far. It had more depth than homecoming IMO. Also it was alot less combat oriented I think. I will never play homecoming ever again because of that stupid Doll boss. Took me literally half an hour to kill that thing, non-stop dodging and hitting. Though in it's defense I had no he...

Re: Theories on the Orphanage (Spoilers, obviously)
At no point does he seem to recognize Silent Hill if I remember correctly. I would think it would be rather ridiculous that he just completely forgot about the place due to him HAVING NO REASON TO HAVE FORGOTTEN IT. It seems they were pretty strict at the orphanage - by the letters and memos. So I ...

Re: Anyone ok with Vatra doing another Silent Hill?
I think they're progressively getting better and better and they seem to be slowly understanding what silent hill is about. I think were 1 more game away from another Awesome silent hill experience! they 100% OK in my book to make another silent hill.

Re: Theories on the Orphanage (Spoilers, obviously)
Right, not to mention there has to be a connection to Murphy and Silent Hill - it's like the golden rule. Since when? Since always, all the silent hill games have connected the main character to silent hill in one way or another. And yeah I am kinda grasping for straws considering the memos.

Re: Theories on the Orphanage (Spoilers, obviously)
Murphy's parents are never mentioned. I'm picking up on the fact that he was at the orphanage because the notes in the orphanage seem to pretty explicitly allude to him. Also, apparently there is artwork revealing that he went to an orphanage according to one of the above posts. Right, not to menti...

Re: Theories on the Orphanage (Spoilers, obviously)
See, the impression I took away was that Napier was the child - the child ate paper and keys, which I immediately likened to pica, which is a symptom of trauma and molestation. And, of course, a good chunk of molesters were molested as children. So Murphy, Anne AND Napier all came from the same mes...

Re: A Backstory Puzzle *MASSIVE SPOILERS*
From my understanding - Napier has done this before. I think there were a couple times in the sidequests that you read about children going missing. Even the first house u go into, through the basement window has the milk carton with the child missing. So this being the case local boy doesn't have t...

Re: Story Questions
I dunno, Ricks seems pretty freaked out about the state of things but is surviving well enough because he's playing along with the "rules". It's a bit of an odd state. I think it might be a case of Otherworld bleed over, like Ricks wasn't specifically in Murphy's Otherworld (he had to hav...

Re: Theories on the Orphanage (Spoilers, obviously)
Hmmm I don't remember that :/ - I guess that being from the Orphanage gives Murphy the connection to Silent Hill. I don't think Murphy has any other connection to silent hill besides that right? Everybody else that gets entangled in Silent Hill has had some sort of connection to it in some way or an...

Re: "Monsters? They look like Monsters to you?"
Murphy being viewed by Anne as Hammer Man is a clear indication that they do see real people as monsters. We see the transition as we look down her gun that Murphy looks like Hammer Man to her and Murphy is obviously real.teosoleil wrote:All those examples you listed were manifestations. Not real people.

Monster / Character / Location Symbolism
Whelp let's get into it! As far as symbolism goes with the monsters there are a couple I'm not too sure about. The Doll - I'm assuming is the fragile relationship between Murphy and his wife. Murphy destroys the dolls by Breaking them, much like he broke the relationship between himself and his wife...

"Monsters? They look like Monsters to you?"
I feel like they really push the whole "You're killing real people" theme throughout the game. That you are not in some otherworld but you are in reality, just warped from your perspective. For instance: The cop cars. Your constantly running around town hiding from them. Of course they're ...

Re: Main Themes of Downpour (huge spoilers)
Yeah the more I think about it the more I believe that Charlie is adopted. On the other hand though, if you watch the Screamer or w/e that monster is called you can clearly see her cradling an invisible baby in her arms. This becomes more prominent the farther you are in the story.

Re: Scariest Moment of the Game
Devil's pit was by far the creepiest part of the game. For jump scares though, there's a part in the orphanage where you walk out a door and BOOM weeping bat -.- almost peed myself
