Re: The New Otherworld, Creepy Little Girls, and Tall Monste

Sooo... is anyone else worried that, according to the Game Informer article, we're going to be chased by a giant raincloud? I mean, I love the idea of a rain motif, but isn't this going a little too far?

Re: Worst case scenario (Vatra, this is what we don't want)

I really, really don't want to deal with blah puzzles anymore. Whatever happened to the actually challenging, interestingly cryptic riddles of the earlier titles?

Sorry, but who is that on the right? It sort of looks like he might be wearing a prison jumpsuit. And yeah, I think that the thing strangling Murphy is that patchwork woman we saw earlier.

If it's tasteful, and doesn't just go OMGZ BLOOD N PEELING, then yeah, a realtime transition can be really awesome. Still, something has to be said for SH1's transition at the school. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I really liked that one, in that you feel as if you've literally stumbled through the...

Honestly? I really don't give a flying fuck whether or not Ito is with the newest Team Silent. He was good, but he wasn't what made the series great. No, what made the series great were the people who worked their asses off to make sure that we arrogant pricks would be scared, and intrigued, and mos...

I expect to be scared at least once during the course of the game. If they couldn't even do that, I would be DISAPPOINT. However, what I really want to see is the sense of dread from the first three. You know- tension and atmosphere so thick, you need a chainsaw to cut it, and a utter terror of ever...

How many ways can one say "No?"

Seriously though, co-op wouldn't be very well suited for the series, unless we're talking about the RE2-style player-helping-himself gameplay.

SH 1 had various trees and bushes if you walked at the side of the roads SH3 had almost none, SH4 had a part in a forest, SH0 also had some trees, SHH had less living, more dead trees, SHSM had a part in a winter forest, i don't see what the problem is with all the trees... Anyhow, Even the fog mov...

When I watched the trailer, two things really stuck out at me: the trees, and the rain. The trees were unusual to me in that they seemed to be doing something actually normal: growing over the town. Think about it: what's the last time you saw a Silent Hill title with verdant foliage? Secondly, the ...

You know what I fear the most? That Vatra will try to use this Murphy guy's history as an excuse for KAWMBAT ECKSPEERYUNTZ and Homecoming the game up. Don't get me wrong, Homecoming was okay, but the combat killed the suspense for me. On a lighter note, I wonder how the idea of a rainy Otherworld wi...

I think I read somewhere that the demigods are representatives of The God, and act as channels for two methods of sacrifice: Xuchil'bara, blood, and Lobsel Vith, flame. They're in conflict with each other, so items symbolic of the other negate their power. Aglaophotis, a blood surrogate, negated the...

Actually, I think it might be interesting to break through to the "real" world. Not for very long, maybe only a few seconds, but enough so that you get a better feel for what the town might have been/still is.

^Well put, Drake. If possible, an original title would be wonderful, but if they really feel that they have to make a "re-imagining," they'd better know damn well what it is that they're doing.
