Shattered Memories takes place in the modern day. It's an entirely alternate universe like the movie. I was hoping that would be the case. Those who don't like it can ignore it, and those who do can play and enjoy it. Seems like that ought to end any arguments about its canonicity. :D It's not pivo...

^ He was being sarcastic when he said that. I know he was. I chose to ignore the sarcasm. :) My original point regarding the gameplay change was that if it's in a genre I don't enjoy playing, then I won't play it. I was a bit hasty and rash in pronouncing that it should be killed with fire, and for...

Yes, because Silent Hill has always been about the fighting, right? Yes. Silent Hill has always been about fighting for survival, fighting against desperation, fear, disgust and loathing in order to progress to the end. You must encounter creatures and situations that are linked only by the fact th...

It's not the story I'm bothered about. It's the gameplay. If I saw a game with that sort of gameplay but without the Silent Hill name attached to it, I wouldn't give it a second glance. It just doesn't look like something I'd enjoy playing. Meh. They can remake SH as a driving game or a Tetris clone...

the Alessa in the wheelchair covered with bandages is all destrudo Those aren't bandages. She's wearing the same type of robes as the corpses (and Pyramid Head and Valtiel). Personally I think there's a lot of merit in the idea that the foggy version of Silent Hill is an alternate world, but there'...

What does the cat mean? It's a reference to Alien. Shortly after the Alien's "birth", the crew of the Nostromo, equipped with portable motion detectors, electric cattle prods and a big net, split into groups and go hunting for it. One of the groups gets a signal on their motion detector a...

I got the PSP version last week, and I'm currently at the Sanitarium. My impressions so far are mostly negative, unfortunately. Controls and camera - Well I suppose forced 2D movement control is inevitable given the PSP's lack of shoulder buttons for sidestepping, but the camera is utterly obnoxious...
