Well, a hell of a lot of the older design ps2's had dodgy disc readers in them. It's a relatively easy thing to fix, if you're okay with that kind of thing, and as long as the laser is fine. The slim is far better designed however, and will probably last you a lot longer. Better looking too.

Aha, mgs is pretty doomed as well i would of thought. All this fake crap they're coming out with now is because of them being worried about it affecting sales of mgs5. Once that's made it's money, that will be that, and any console/pc games they do make (if any) will be cheap, poorly developed crap.

I don't think it would be as straightforward as that, this is Silent Hill after all. The Mary he would get back wouldn't be the same Mary that died. And i can't imagine him being able to return to the real world with the doppelganger.

The god does have power in the real world, it's what drags heather into the otherworld in the first place. If it was ever to be born, it would just drag the entire population of the planet into the otherworld. It would then proceed to mess with them.

Yep, I have experienced this exact thing on the 360 version and the only way I could progress was to restart unfortunately.

Well, if I was in the same situation, in water would probably be my "solution".

A small tip. If you happen to have a older ps2 that does that skipping and clicking thing, a minor adjustment to the distance the lens is from the disc usually fixes them, it's just a matter of adjusting a screw.
