Re: New Silent Hill game teaser

This is more outrageous than some of the gag Silent Hill April Fool's day announcements I've seen. I love it! Almost too good to be true.

Re: Bad save system.

I concur that the save system in this game is a bit awkward. I also found it to cause a brief bit of stuttering in my game whenever a checkpoint or autosave occurs, which can be a bit jarring. I'd have been fine with the old manual save system, or even Shattered Memories ' system of saving through t...

Re: New E3 2011 Trailer

This game looks like it may turn out to be really good. I can't wait to have it in my hands to find out! I liked the things crawling on the ceiling. Very creepy!

The black metal flashlight Murphy picks up is pretty damn big, it has a handle on it too. That along with the kitchen appliances and television in the apartments, especially the refrigerator, all look like things you would browse through at your local antique shop. I definitely get a 1950s - early 1...

The teaser trailer gives me the impression that the other criminals that are in the truck with Murphy are going to be transfigured into monsters, like the otherworld is making their true selves manifest. That could be neat if they have more to them than just being one-time boss encounters. It could ...

I think that you described the effect and strength of the frozen otherworld very well. The ice also gives a strong feeling of danger. In many of the outdoor otherworld sequences, and especially during the high school, everything feels like it is suspended on some sort of island above the black chasm...

I'm not really referring to having the environments and character interactions change from playthrough-to-playthrough like in SM . I know that that may or may not fit or have as much of an impact in future games. What I am referring to is that I like the gameplay triggers that are more involved than...

I love side quests in these types of games. The Kaufman side quest is my favorite part of the first SH . I hope that what they do with the side quests in this game involves the same sort of exploration, and provides the same amount of expansion on characters and sub-plots. I don't care too much abou...

Are you setting the screen format to widescreen through your television? The game may require you to set the format to widescreen through the game options. I'm playing on the Wii version, but I know that occasionally games don't automatically scale to widescreen properly without tweaking in-game set...

Nintendo Magazine Interview with Climax

http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/article.php?id=14814 Nothing terribly exciting. Sam Barlow and Mark Simmons talk about why they chose to reimagine Silent Hill instead of make Silent Hill 7 or 8 , Resident Evil , Capcom and Sega complaining about mature sales, their desire to make another S...

My fastest time was something like 5 hours. I keep looking for things that have changed or that I may have missed, so about 5-5.5 hours is about as fast as I can willingly go. (Also, according to an online guide I recently checked, I am still missing things. For example, I am missing one of the echo...

Mine was accurate for my first play-through, except for a point where Dr. Kaufman said that I wasn't necessarily the "clean-living type." I'm about as prude as someone can get when it comes to drugs, alcohol, sexual behavior, and other moral questions, without being devoutly religious.

The chase scenes were certainly scary. I scared myself by using the evasion points(under the benches and in the closets/cabinets); I would get really nervous hoping they wouldn't find Harry. Usually they work for me, so when they actually found him and grabbed him it would catch me off-guard. I also...

I was surprised that the two phone numbers you can call on Henry's phone in Silent Hill 4 didn't work in this game. It would have been cool, as well as an obvious reference for the developers to make.

It's a very generic-looking smart-phone.

Aside: I noticed on my most recent playthrough that the battery power indicator on Harry's phone actually shows the power remaining in your Wii-mote's batteries. Kind of useful.
