Okay everyone quick question, im about to go for 10 star speed run but before i do i need to ask a few questions:

1. do Boss fights count as kills (mainly pyramid head)

2. do creepers count toward your kills

3. do i have toget the secret wepons like in sh3

i had one more really important one but i forgot it maybe ill remember it before its too late...


and any suggestions would be great...

that gamefaq above is good but I made many modifications so that I obtained 10 star without dog ending , take extra riddles they are "easier" cuz are always same. boss counts in SH3 in SH2 they count too but mainly for "shooting", yea collect every secret item (there are 8 ), cant say for sure about creepers I dont remember much anymore it was like 4 years ago, but I remember worst thing that bugged me and every1 who did 10star was ...damage Good luck amigo , if ya succed lemme know eh?

alright, im doing the speed run in about a week, right now im memorizeing item locations, and thx for the tips, but still would like a few more....

I could never do a speed run because I examine every little thing in Silent Hill games,I love to explore,I'm not very keen on blazing through as fast as I can.
I've never gotten a 10 star ranking,but it's quite the accomplishment.

so you want to make a "speed run" or "10 star attempt" cuz these are 2 diffrent things, 10 star requires planning tactics and whats worse mastering silly gameplay like using weapons and stuff like that , "speedrun" is wayway easier thing you just go from start to finish line as fast as you can not bothering your damage and kills...

well I remembered myself that basic thing b4 start is making two columns on blank paper page one column is "by killing" the other is "by fighting" you need 75 each for gold after each kill pause game and fill table (its mentioned in that faq if ya already studied it whole - you ought to ) , bad thing I had planned which monster exactly with which method I used to kill but sry amigo im getting older each year... hope you succed its quite a challenge i have my pic of that 10 star rank and save somewhere so ill try to dig it up l8

What do you get by doing this?

nothing apart from big satisfaction , oh and some spary that kills everything that moves but that aint goal

A ten-star rank awards you the most potent version of the Hyper Spray.

There aren't really any "good" rewards... Just the satisfaction of knowing that you actually played the game on hard and beat it; unlike others who play only on beginning difficulty.

And I don't really see what's so special about the hyper spray... ??

If what I have read is correct the hyper spray kills anything in one hit if you get a 10 star ranking.

And then... You know its there to demonstrate how incredibly awesome you are.

Most stars i've gotten is 8...

As far as I remember the only monster it doesn't kill instantly is Pyramid Head and the final boss, right? oO

To my opinion, I never really liked the Hyper Spray. Attacking monsters with a gun or melee weapon is much more adrenaline-pumping and thrilling than oh... spraying them like they were an annoying bug!

10 STAR, yay i am a true gamer...
and i can care less about hyper spray, i just wanted the satisfaction.

ahh, hard, thank god for that guide that got posted i would have never thought of the dog ending as a short cut...

AND DAMN DUDE you got a sweet bot time, mine was 1 min 24 seconds leave ending, but what im proud of is i only got 346 damage, it was hard, time was 2h 43 min 14 sec, face cube took me about 2 minurtes (ouch) i wanted to beat it with the extra riddle mode, bad move...

lol ye damn cube is random , boat time is easy when you use analog stick you can change curse at full speed, but its strange i dont have extra hard riddles mode anymore somehow i played on a save that was already once gold and with all endings finished and extra ridles just dissapearing then , anyway 10 star in SH3 is 3 times harder in my opinion, try it l8 Jhon

right now im going for silent hill 1, i heard thats the hardest, you can only miss like 3 shots.
but silent hill 4 you cant use any saves!!!!
3 seems annnoying becasue you need to kill bosses realy quick...

you got anytips for any of the other silent hills, i already beat all them at least once, so i kinda know what to do, any input would be great

ye SH4 10 star is easiest from series and 0 saves is not a problem since there is no damage limits anymore problem is about colecting all the memos which is pain in ass requires many backtracking to home and out , SH1 is the only game which i didnt do 10 star so i dunno I recall SH3 as a real toughest motherfucker, www.gamefaqs.com and you have all sh games on plate though its still nothing cuz gameplay stuff will still be pain in ass, and SH1 gameplay is very stiff so ...patience
