Which scene nearly made you cry? For me, it was in SH4
when Cynthia dies.
Weird thing is that it was, like, my third playthrough before I cried on it.
So which scene gets you?

Duh, Silent Hill 3:
1. When Heather finds Harry murdered
2. When Douglas drives Heather to Silent Hill
3. After you kill the final boss when she breaks down and cries again
When James confesses to Laura, yet we see he still has hope and isn't true to himself when he listens to the message he hears on the tv.

At the end of SH2, when you hear Mary reading her last letter...
Definitely...
It's the kind of stuff that always makes me cry.

The In Water ending to SH2. I'm not sure its the true ending, but :( its sad.

Also,
SH3 when Harry is discovered dead, and subsequent scenes wherein his writings are read revealing his deep love for his foundling. Its just beautiful.
In Silent Hill 4, in the subway world when
Cynthia is dying
So moving and touching, and Room of Angel in the background makes it all go down to the core.

Edit: Please make sure to keep on marking your moments as spoilers further on, there are people here who hasn't been playing through all the games.

For me was in SH2.
Just before the final boss, the conversation between James and Mary while walking down the corridor. When she snaps telling him to leave ect. then begging him not to leave.
It almost made me cry.
I was thinking to myself, (and the unfortunate ppl that do live through this) imagine if that was me in his shoes, watching your wife wither away to nothing. It would honestly kill me inside.
Can't believe no one's said this, but:
Lisa's death in SH1. She looks so helpless...
Cynthia's death is a close second, but I think the music is really what made that scene as moving as it was. That, and her insistence that she was going to wake up.

The 21 Sacraments ending made me an emo woman. When they said Henry was mutilated I was all, "Well... damn... I'm gonna go cut myself with an electric razor..."
...Then again, almost every bad ending is sad for me.
I was also really, really sad when Lisa died. D:
Agreed. That did it for me, I couldn't believe a game could have that kind of profound effect on me.

Mary's two monologs, though the first one (you know where, its in the spoilers previously mentioned) really touched me. I almost felt like crying. Then I fought FINAL BOSS and heard the other one and was really sad ('specially 'cause I got In Water *grumblegrumble* That's enough depressing to make a preppy person emo. (No offense to either.))

When I'd forgotten to save in a very, very long time.

And a simple mannequin owned my ass.

Oh, and basically any death in SH has made me emo. Because I'm good like that.

The conversation with Maria in the Labyrinth cell. It wasn't touching, but there was a lot of touching. She was going to let him ball her until his brain pooped rainbows.

Probably from SH2,
When James finds "Mary" at the top of the stairs near the end, and she starts shouting at him. Even though he killed her i just felt so sorry for him it was awful!
And also SH2...
When he watches the video of Mary in Lakeview Hotel
In SH4:
When Cynthia dies, she is SO terrified. 'Oh my god, I feel like I'm dying'. And Henry comforting her with his softly muttered 'It's ok...it's just a dream'. The saddest thing to me is someone having to lie to someone dying to keep them happy. It gets me more then anything else.
I have to agree with AgentX7k. Although there aren't many things in that game that impress me
Cynthia's death was just terrible because you can sense her fear and desperation.
I also find the scene on SH1 where
Alessa is trying to call her mother to reality saying that she only wants to be with her
very touching.
