My big dislikes:

Tank Controls
Princess Heart and UFO endings
Donna Burke as Angela
This lock is brocken...DAMN YOU 200 DOORS AND ONLY ONE OPENS??!!
Little character development in SH4
The "shyness" of Henry

and some other stuff that I don´t remember right now, SH series is nearly perfect, these small dislikes are just minimal.

Sh3:s lack of darkness... actually... the ONE thing I would have wanted in SH4 is the darkness... the whole thing of not seeing what you hear is what makes me scared of sh1 still... The trailer for sh4 is probably more scary than the game, because it is darker...

Heh, the trailer for sh4 is better than the game.

No, the trailer is scarier than the game... Sh4 is good, but in it's own way.

I totally know what you mean! I still watch the trailer, because the effects were done so well. I wish the game could've had that kind of feel to it, it certainly left an impression on me..

I hate:
The ghosts of sh4
The level of hard on all the games
The bad ending of sh1
The fact that you can only carry 10 things in sh4
The fact that you can't carry your gun or light on the service elavtor of sh2
The limit of only 200 bullets on sh1
The lack of darkness in sh3
The way Henry jumps from not even knowing Eileen to in love with her
The repitation of sh4
Eileen following you in sh4
Harry's death in sh3

Don't worry the things I like far out wiegh the things I don't

SH1:

*The sewers, first time. The second time they're all freaky and scary, the first time, they're just long and tedious.

*Cybil. I'm sorry, I just don't like her. She alternates between attempting to sound badass and attempting not to sound completely ignorant. She rarely succeeds at either.

SH2:

Not a god damn thing.

SH3:

*The underpass, between the subway and the sewer, especially on Hard Mode. It's a hell of a challenge... perhaps a bit too much. And at the same time, I wish that effect would repeat itself elsewhere.

*Claudia... though I think that's intentional. I hate her preachy scrawny white no-eyebrows ass.

SH4:

*Having 2D controls forced on me. This is Silent Hill, not Metal Gear fucking Solid.

*Severely limited inventory

*The uselessness of guns.

*The entire Forest level, both times. Long, long, boring, fucking kill me already.

*Can someone please turn down the lights?

*Playing chaperone to Eileen.

The only problems I have are:

1. too short (needs either more spacing or more areas. Or, more scenes. I think long horror games are the way to go for a series like SH)
2. needs new camera angles. I like the controls ok; they need a revamp, though. 2d, however, is not the way to go.

With the series:

1: the way he walked

2: length, in general. A bit on the short side. Also, his walk and run were kinda "uh, what the fuck?"

3: not much storyline, just seemed to go to point a to point b, basically too linear.

4: not enough personality, repeating levels, some levels weren't that expansive, continuity errors.

The worst one in the series? Hm. Probably 3, even though I still like playing it based on how creepy it is.

Tank. Controls. 3D control types were developed from the depths of hell. At least with 2 and 3 you had a choice but for the first one it was 3D or nothing and I've never been able to get used to it (and thus never finished that bloody game).

In SH4 the scene I hated, yet loved for it's the most realistic scene of pain ever created for a video game, was when Richard fell from, like, 50 feet, hit the ground and then stood up and said "Ouch, damnit!"

First person mode in the apartment of SH4...personal issue because I lose all IQ in first person and I keep running into walls.

Slurpers. Enough said.

That's more or less exactly why I hate 2D controls. It turns Silent Hill into The Three Stooges Meet the Monsters From Hell.

"The lack of darkness in SH3" What the hell?! Maybe I'm just goin blind but to me the game was dark as fuck! In my opinion the game is visually the best of the series and the most disturbing piece of artwork ever.

I really have very little bad things to say about any of the games, but I guess the whole combat system could be a bit less... well... boring. I mean: you just hold down R2 and X (on ps) and hope that the offender dies before you, and if you wanna be a real tactician, you might take a few side steps or back up a little. Whoopie-doo. But I guess this contributes to the panic that usually accompanies the battles and we sure as hell don't need no DMC-action in SH, so maybe I'll just be happy about what we got.

Yeah the Mannequin Room in 3 scared the living hell out of me. As did the mirrior room.

But anyways...

I really have no complaints other than about my fave in the series.

4. And its this...

Henry says "What The Hell" about 2392392163821 times.

Generally what I hate about SilentHill games is its worthless replay value.. that's right I won't play it all over just for a new scene, further more SilentHill should use a new combat system because it's very similar in all SH games im expecting the combat system for SH5 to improve.

wrong reasons? I wouldn't want for this game to get repetitive , SilentHill always had a deep story and shallow weapons system I want that to change, I mean what's the use of having so meny weapons if they all play basicly the same....

It's already been said a million times, but the ghosts in part four. Also the repetiveness of all the levels... the holding limit... Walter chasing you around with a gun... the lack of puzzles... Eileen following you... and the fact I haven't finished it yet because of all the above reasons plus a few more. >.>
