Has anyone else noticed this?
You know the weird warped, but calming, music?
You get it in the weapon sellers hideouts (i.e the one next to the place you El Gigante)
And like when you're trying to find all those things of Walters dad, in the final apartment world (that and at the end of the trailer).

I swear to god, those tunes are almost EXACTLY identical.
I'll try find the files and post them, or something.

Oh that one and the Resting Comfortably of SH4? Yeah... it does kinda much. But they just glorified the music and imo, it did horrible. I liked it but Resting Comfortably is still much better.

Wha...? I don't think they sound much alike at all. Really. Are you guys trying to say that someone at Capcom copied Resting Comfortably, or what? (Which doesn't seem right since I believe that the tune in RE4 is a "remake" of the other Save room-tunes from the earlier Resident Evil-games. Isn't it?)

I just said it sound similar and "Serenity" (yes, that's the name of that song) seemed to be the glorified version of it (or the more instruments/louder/more notes.) but I never said that they copied one another.

Christ. Would some people give it a rest? RE did not "copy" anything of merit from SH. In fact, if anything, SH "copied" its entire gameplay style from RE in 1999, but you don't see us complaining about that, now, do you?

Ever notice that no one actually said that, let alone complained about it?

The only thing RE4 and SH4 share is a cult plot device, and similar outfits for Ashley/Heather and Luis/Vincent. SH4 is a psychological mindfuck, whereas RE4 is a mindless shoot-em-up.

I doesn't surprise me that we keep findng these little similarities between SH and RE. They are the biggest rivals in the "survival horror" genre.

OMG! I thought i was the only one who noticed! Yeah, it was, if not, exactly identical to SH4. But RE4 was made first, so therefore SH might have stole it first  (only joking)

Pre-rendering backgrounds vs full 3d rendering lend to totally different gameplay techniques. Silent Hill is somewhere between MGS and RE2...I think SH had advanced past RE at that point...

today, RE and SH are so totally seperate that I don't even consider them the same genre. SH has gone from survival horror to surreal/nightmarish storytelling art...and RE has gone from Survival Horror to just a fun shooting game.

Silent Hill and Resident Evil need to stop being compared period.

It's getting on my nerves.

Actually, the fact that many seem to think RE and SH are 'rivals' is annoying.
It's like, Britney and Christina were best friends in the Mickey Mouse Club.

And FrozenHalo...SH1 had rotate-and-run controls, as well as several perfect matches for button functions, a near-identical method of equipping weapons and using items, as well as one or two monsters that practically leapt from RE into SH.

But yeah, fully-rendered backgrounds.

Seriously, I've downloaded them both.
You cannot deny the similarity between them.

Not saying anyone copied anyone.
Its essentially got pretty much the same bit which is the starting 'rise and fall', played over and over again. RE4s is more distorted though- more sound effects.
RE4s continues into more stuff, whereas SH4s keeps repeating this same bit.

Not being biased, but I thought the groaners were much cooler/creepier than RE's dogs... On a complete side note, I'm pissed. Thought I'd play SH1 and 2 again this weekend, but in the process of looking for my PS1 memory card, stepped on it and broke it. Ebay here I come...

One thing that RE4 and The Room do not have in common is that RE4 did not suck unfathomable amounts of ass.

$.02
