The press release announces that the publisher with this remark "New players will appreciate the progenitor of the series and make more pleasant the wait for the new chapter, Silent Hill Downpour.

About time too. Thankfully, I still have the original disc, but it'll be great for everyone to be able to play it.
Re: Coming to EU PSN
Apparently it will be downloadable for the PSP too, I might get it on that

I love the Silent Hill Series. The games: Homecoming, Origins, and Shattered Memories, did nothing wrong whatsoever, they were developed well, and did things different. Just because they were not by Team Silent doesn't mean that they're bad games. I believe in this series. I believe that one day, we can have a game that will make all Silent Hill fans Happy. I believe that Silent Hill Downpour can achieve this.
Team Silent may be gone, but their series isn't. Instead... it's here, it's alive.
If you agree, add it to your sig.

Wow. I didn't know that SH1 wasn't available to EU! Wow, where have I been? That's great, though!

Re: Coming to EU PSN
Hey, good deal! Especially considering the original disc is nearly impossible to get ahold of for a reasonable price these days (fortunately I still have my copy that I bought about 8 years ago.)
Glad to see that my personal favorite entry in the series will get some lovin' in the near future.

Yes, of course. All PSOne Classics are available for the PSP and PS3. The game's manual is also included in digital format, within the emulator, in case you guys/gals weren't aware.redrum wrote:Apparently it will be downloadable for the PSP too, I might get it on that
So great news for you EU peeps.
Re: Coming to EU PSN
FINALLY ! I never got to play the original, so this makes me very happy.
Thanks, redrum.

Re: Coming to EU PSN
About time. Let's just hope they get rid of that annoying sound bug, eh?
Re: Coming to EU PSN
Oh very nice. I hope it will come to for the X360 but most likely not cause its an original ps1 title. But I can borrow the ps3 of my roommate for a weekend no doubt

I didn't understand, what is it a remake? What is PSN?
Re: Coming to EU PSN
PSN stands for PlayStation Network, and is mostly used for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable devices.NemesisFY wrote:I didn't understand, what is it a remake? What is PSN?
The PlayStation Network has an online store where you can purchase digital copies of PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable games. They also have PlayStation 1 games available, that are in a special format to run on a built-in emulator that the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable have.
The EU region of the PlayStation Network will be providing Silent Hill 1 under their PlayStation 1 category. So people in the EU region will soon be able to download Silent Hill 1 for their PlayStation 3 and/or PlayStation Portable.
tl;dr
It's not a remake, it's simply the original PlayStation 1 game being available for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable, via emulator.

Re: Coming to EU PSN
That's pretty cool then.
Something that would be cool, would be make a remake exactly like it was on PS1, or a HD quality change like they are doing to SH2 and SH3, did you heard about that?

^Yes, we have, actually. We have many discussions on the forum about the HD collection.
