Nurses and Light?

Post by monmashq »

Do nurses react to light like they do in the movie?
Like if there in a r00m and I turn the flashlight off. Will the stay still? I am about to reach this part and was just curious.

^_^ thnx

Not really. They're always moving, but they won't necessarily come right at you if the flashlight's off.

They don't stay still but if you're a little bit away from them they don't notice you.
And no, if you're right next to them they will attack you.

Silent Hill 5 seems to be taking this from the movie, though, if you think it's a good thing.

I'm thinking it's retarded, but I guess it could work.
If you can read this, I'll kill you.

All the monsters have some degree of realistic sensitivity to the light, but none of them appear solar-powered like in the movie; they walk around in the dark on pre-determined paths. It makes sense that if you leave your light off, they're less likely to notice you. I've snuck past a lot of demon school kids that way.

It's not an agent of them being sensitive to light itself. The monsters in SH1-3 all zero in on noise (running) and light.

By "sensitive" I simply meant that they notice the light. Should've worded that better. :P

Light usually attracts enemies more. With it off, yuo can slip more unnoticeably, carefully into the shadows easier. Not saying they won't try to lunge at you anyways.

from personal experience, it makes the most difference in SH2. i've walked right past patients and mannequins in hallways, unharmed, simply by turning off the light. it can be a big help in SH3 if you're playing hard or extreme mode as well. most monsters react in their own ways.
no longer active. thanks for the memories.

I guess you wear an earphone or something becuse the monsters don't hear it. If you play one your going to love the sewers.
And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe

Nope, the monsters can't hear the radio in any of the games. Just leave 'er on. :)

You can turn up the brightness on your TV. :] It's not the same, but it alleviates the creepyness some (I'd still use flashlight when I can).

I don't understand the point of playing SH games and trying to "alleviate" the creepyness. If you're gonna be whimps about it then don't play. It's all apart of the SH experience.

Yeah but its extra k00l when you know the game can and will scare you. I try to test myself. Its amazing how similar you act on the game and in real life. I remember seeing

I was right at it when I noticed it, and I belted it with the Bar and ran off. Man I swear that t00k 10years off my life -_-

The characters in the game always answer this question for you. If you examine the radio, it basically says something along the lines of monsters not noticing if it's on.

I suppose creepy wasn't the right word... More of... it's hard to sneak up on a monster if you can't see where you're going. At least, that's the only reason I do it.
