I don't know why, but I find the lambs kind of silly. Lambs do not invoke terror, they are harmless herd animals. Even a huge lamb is not scary!

SH4 is not such a bad game, just not AS good as the previous 3, good storyline though

I've seen both convulsing/ dancing women and babies. The woman always happens, I believe, one world before the baby. I always kind of thought of it meaning Walter was slowly going back into his childhood in his mind. Where him being messed up started.

The overlying theme of the stairwell appears to be Walter's subconciounsce. The babies represent his innocence, the female represents his "mother," the sheep represent.... oh, fuck it, I don't know what the hell the sheep represent!

The (conventional) symbolism of a sheep is sacrifice.

has anyone noticed the elevator car racing down the tube, similar to the one you use in the water prison world?
And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe

The sheep could be a two-fold metaphor.

A. Sacraficial Lamb - 21 sacraments.

B. Sheep and Shepherd - Christian interpretation that we are sheep and god is our shepherd. Walter was a sheep in this case being led by the doctrines of his faith.

Ooo I have to look out for that if I play it again. I noticed a guy knelt down like he was praying/begging the other week when I played it.

The first time you enter the Spiral Staircase, before hitting Subway world second time. Look in the center of the staricase. I'm pretty sure there's a female mannequin thing with nails/needles in it and it's hangin in a box like
