Atleast, I think that's what they're called, right? Well anyways, right after you use the hanger to climb to the 2nd floor, you see the stretchers with obviously dead bodies? What is it suppose to symbolize or represent? They're obviously there for a reason.
I guess it DOES make sense, not to mention the TV in the Nightmare Mall shows (atleast I think) Alessa saying "Daddy" and the stretchers are in the same place so I guess it makes perfect sense.

You're right. I remember the same kind of stretchers in SH1 and they represent Alessa's hospitalization, so it safe to assume that it means the same in SH3 also.
Considering that these stretchers appear in the first "level", it could be some kind of early break through of Alessa.
I mean, at that point Heather has no idea who she really is, so it could be coming/comes from her subconciousness.

its reminiscent of the first thing in silent hill 1 where harry goes down that alleyway and comments on the hospital stretcher thats just there
