For those who have beaten Origins (spoilers)
As we all know, Heather has memories of both Alessa and Cheryl within her, she even remembers Lisa taking care of her in the hospital... So, do you think she remembers Travis rescuing her from the fire and making the Flauros and such? Not to mention that they both have certain similarities:
A) They both are able to read maps in the dark without a flashlight on.
B) They both start with a "lucky" item. (Pendant and Quarter)
C) They both stare at doors they can go through.
D) They're both into fashion. (having loads of alternate costumes)
E) Both their quests are rather short.
F) You can only get the good ending through their first playthrough, both their "joke" endings are very early in the game and getting the bad ending involves killing a large amount of monsters.
Also, Heather says that she doesn't like mirrors, could she be referring to Travis and the otherworld?

No, because Origins was made after SH3 so the developers couldn't have had it in mind.
I kid, but I'm still gonna say no because Heather goes on to say *why* she doesn't like mirrors, and while I think one could argue that it correlates to Origins' gameplay, I don't think they're one and the same. I think Origins obviously scooped up the idea, so their mirror motif might be more of an homage than an actual connection.

I don't believe it's possible for the events in Origins to have been specifically what Heather was referring to.
- but I definitely agree with Krist. that the Origins creators might have kept that plot point in mind while structuring their game, and thought it would make an interesting homage or nod back to the third. Or it could simply be coincidence, mirrors have shown up a decent amount in the Silent Hill games. =)Krist. wrote:I think Origins obviously scooped up the idea, so their mirror motif might be more of an homage than an actual connection.

I think they're very good points.
Obviously, in a sense it's these things Travis has in common with Heather. But if we're going linear with the story, I agree what you say; it could be that she remembers Travis. (Not mentioned, but of course it's a possibility.)
The way I see it, if it can be accepted that Travis' story did in fact happen before Silent Hill 1, why can't it be that Heather has these things (now) in common with Travis? Even while, in reality, they made (if they did) these things so Travis had things in common with her, they made it so it would tie in to the story to say that Heather had these things in common with him. Make more sense now?
I didn't think so.
Either way, I think they are good points, and maybe not all coincidental.

yeah, pretty much. it's kind of a stretch to call the whole mirror-warping thing an homage to SH3.Leesers wrote:Or it could simply be coincidence, mirrors have shown up a decent amount in the Silent Hill games.
i doubt there's that much connection between travis and heather, especially if one of the arguments for it is "they're both into fashion because they have a lot of extra in-game costumes put in by the designers (which have no bearing on the game's storyline or plot whatsoever)".
no longer active. thanks for the memories.

This is an interesting topic, but I even doubt that the creators of Origins were inspired by Heather disliking mirrors. Cause basing the entire Otherworld transition in Origins of a random thing Heather said in Silent Hill 3 seems a little bit too odd to me.
Then again we had the same thing with SH2 and Walter Sullivan. Hmm...
But I wonder more about if Heather remembers him. Of course she doesn't mention him due to the fact that SH3 was made before anybody even thought of Origins.
But theoretically she might remember him.

I say the reason Heather doesn't like mirrors is beacuse when she looks into one, she sees herself and what has happened to her. They not only reflect what we look like outside, but sometimes what we harbor inside. That's my opinion anyway.

If Origins is considered canon yes she would, but at the time of SH3 there was no knowledge of this so game-wise no.Cyrus wrote: So, do you think she remembers Travis rescuing her from the fire and making the Flauros and such?

Well according to this article http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/silen ... ns-preview
The story line was kept in check by having climax have konami make sure it all fit canon (Paragraph before the last)
I'm not sure how reliable they are though but idk
