This sounds like...

Heather finds out why it's true that you shouldn't talk to strangers. Or look in mirrors, quite honestly.

This sounds like...

Post by phantomess »

A few minutes ago, I was sitting here at the computer, and Christopher was watching The Twilight Zone nearby. I wasn't paying much attention to it at the time, until I suddenly heard something extremely familiar. It took me a minute to place it, but- well, have a listen. (I looked up a video of it for you guys.)
Give the video a chance to download, then skip to -6:03. Listen to the song that is sung.

Is it just me, or does that sound a lot like Heather's phone call (though with some different words)?

MY MIND. IT IS BLOWN.

I spewed pizza roll at the screen in surprise when I heard it. Good find!

Thank goodness. I was afraid my first response would be someone saying, "Oh, we all know about this..."

I thought they were pretty similar. It doesn't sound as identical as I thought now that I listened to SH3's again- I thought Heather's call might have actually been an edited version of the Twilight Zone clip- but it still sounds eerily similar to me.

Sorry, mods, if this isn't a valid enough thread. I thought about putting it in the cult section, but thought more people might be interested than the few who go there...
Perhaps it could just be moved if necessary.

OO, I love that episode of the Twilight Zone!

I think it was a good find Phantomess!
Alot of those old shows like Twilight Xone and the Xfiles inspired some of the stuff in Silent Hill i've read somewhere.
I didn't think of it before when I first saw the episode, but it defiantly sounds really creepy.

In the game it's "Happy Birthday to You." In the show it's "to Me." And the voices aren't the same, just the way they sing.
"He's underground now. His new name is Number Seven."

^ which isn't that big a deal, because the happy birthday song has little variations, right?

no offense. :(

I acknowledged in my first post that the words weren't all the same. :)

And yeah, they are different voices, but they sound so alike that I think SH3's could have been an imitation.

Sorry, I was just surprised and excited when I heard it on the show...

I remember when they parodied this episode on the Simpsons. That was creepy.

If I heard it without expecting it, SH3 would pop in my head, it does sound similar, well enough to catch my attention.

I'm going to agree with HAppy Burger on this one. I think it's definitely possible that Team Silent had this in mind when they wrote that cutscene.
There was a hole here, too...

It does sound similar, but obviously it is a little different in a few places. It is kind of hard to descipher between coincidence and reference. Either way, I would accept it.

There is also the fact that the kid in that episode has some sort of power that other fear, although Alessa killed people and this kid turned them into toys, but you know... it is another thing to point out.

It sounds similar, but not strikingly so. I'm agreeing with Harrys_Girl that it could be either coincidence or reference.
Or both.

The kid also put them out to the cornfield, which was essentially, killing them.
