Just memorize the route Travis has to take (it'll probably take 6 or 7 restarts) and run through it without fail. And skip every single cutscene, even the fall and Alessa's "firefighting" trick. It's definitely doable.
I read somewhere that the Butcher costume made Travis impervious to the Straitjackets' acid spit attack, but it wasn't true. Obviously, the ideal combo is the Tracksuit, the Tesla Gun, and the Night Vision Goggles. That makes Travis fast, invisible, and lethal at any disatance. But it also makes the game pretty dull...

Invisible? I thought NVG just made it all green and takes away the need to use a flashlight.
Sort of forgot with no flashlight on, monster hardly ever see you. Is this how it works?
I also just got 12/14 accolades, I didn't realize I needed to melee stuff for weaponmaster. I hope I can do a speed run and use primarily melee, though it may be difficult, killing the last 2 birds with 1 stone.

With the NVG's on, Travis dioesn't need his flashlight. The monsters outdoors in Misty Silent Hill can still see him, because there's light. The ones indoors, or in Nightmare Silent Hill, will not see him unless he is close to them. And if you can see the enemy but the enemy cannot see you, you have the advantage.
UPDATE: Something is VERY screwy. According to every source I know, you have to kill 200 monsters to get the Bad Ending/Butcher Accolade. But I just played through the game, only killed about 120 monsters, and I STILL keep getting the blasted Bad Ending. Was everyone wrong, or is there something going on that I don't know about?

Hey I just beat the game and got the stalker and savior (I think thats what its called :p) anywayz I saved my new game in a blank slot, not over my newly beaten game, and when I start playing it says I have those accolades but it wont let me wear them…what am I doing wrong? Do I need to save my new game over my beaten game instead of a blank space?

I haven't had that problem. I always saved in a fresh spot during my next game. Which version are you playing?

I really don't think it's based on how many monsters you kill really. It's more of a percentage. Cause I've played through the game many mannny times and sometimes I'll end up getting this accolade. So I just suggest to not really kill any if you want to get the good ending.UPDATE: Something is VERY screwy. I have a question. Is it possible to get the Bad Ending on your first playthrough?angelofROOM302 wrote:I really don't think it's based on how many monsters you kill really. It's more of a percentage. Actually, it might be possible to get the bad ending on your first playthrough. I was pretty shocked becuase this guy emailed me about my walkthrough and told me that he beat the game for the first time and ended up with the Butcher ending. Now, I haven't been able to completely test this out and update the walkthrough, but I don't think he would just lie about something like that. I think if someone did get the bad ending on their first playthrough, they seriously probably killed everything and ended up dying alot too.I have a question. Is it possible to get the Bad Ending on your first playthrough?

Thanks. Right now, I'm going for the Daredevil costume (Shiba Inus FTW!). I'll try to get the Bad ending afterwards.angelofROOM302 wrote:Actually, it might be possible to get the bad ending on your first playthrough. I am playng the PS2 version but ya know I used a gamechark code for invincibility during the final boss fight, I know Ima cheater but I just kept dying anywayz after I beat the boss I saved my game into an empty slot and started playing a new game hoping to use my accolades. Perhaps if I load the game without gameshark it will let me access them? I will have to try that and get back to you.

Eeep, yeah, I would blame the gameshark perhaps. Do indeed let us know what happens.

hmm...did you actually load your saved game when you started a new game? Because it seems that if you just hit new game it goes back to default with no accolades. you have to load the completed game and that will start a new game and you should see your stuff.anywayz after I beat the boss I saved my game into an empty slot and started playing a new game hoping to use my accolades.

Nope I loaded my saved game and it let me see which accolades I have aquired, the stalker and something else. However when I click on them to select one it does nothing. I am blaming the gameshark right now so next time I get a break from school and work I will see what happens if I load the saved game without the gameshark codes.SilentMadness wrote:hmm...did you actually load your saved game when you started a new game? I managed to get the Butcher ending during my first playthrough. I only died once, but killed a hell of a lot of things, so I put it down to that.angelofROOM302 wrote:Actually, it might be possible to get the bad ending on your first playthrough.
