I think this might be the DAYBREAK sample being used in Tsugunai: Atonement for PS2 at 0:58 seconds https://youtu.be/A_ZkPdWlAZs?t=58s

Took me about a week to look over this whole thread but man it was fun. I wanna thank everybody who contributed, my sample library collecting starts now! But before I start I wanted to see if I could get some suggestions on which libraries to pick up. I'm into producing Detroit Techno and Deep House so I'm mainly looking for synth sounds, but I also want to incorporate some industrial sounds as well.

Thanks again~

Not that it's a big deal, but for non-Yamaoka stuff, perhaps you could post in this thread on VGMdb instead?

My favorites are Bizarre Guitar and Distorted Reality 1/2 by Spectrasonics, and the Cuckooland libraries by Zero-G. Jason Jones' libraries (Titanium Rhythms and Things that Go Bump in the Night series) are pretty cool too, especially TR if you like industrial. I'm still looking for the library "Megaton Bomb 2 - d-Day" by him. I've also grown fond of the A Poke in the Ear with a Sharp Stick series by Rarefaction.

For Techno/House, you'll definitely want to check out some Vengeance samples, if you haven't. Their stuff is really popular these days.

Maybe check out Industrial Strength Records, as well. Their stuff is geared more towards Hardcore and Industrial electronic music, but they produce a lot of good libraries.

Of course, I'd recommend just making your own sounds! :)

Thanks guys I will definitely check out those libraries! I wrote down literally every sample library I read about on this thread so its good to know which ones are more geared towards the stuff I'm making. I have some drum machines so its not drum loops I'm after it's more those ambient pads and some of the clanky metallic sounds that Akira uses. I'm thinking about saving up for Omnisphere 2. VIVIsect I remember reading you use Omnisphere, do you know which spectrasonics libraries are included in Omnisphere and do you plan on upgrading to 2.0?

After hearing the sounds that are included in the program Ejay Rave Edition, there is a sample in the section of "effects" that I think is used in "Black Fairy" of SH2, the voices that fades in.
This is the sample: http://www.mediafire.com/listen/5mvbaljq533dyh8/15.wav

Im not sure if that's it. Its also mixed with another sound. SOUND_004A.BD_0000.wav is the sample name from the game.

Avith, the "fading voice" you're referring to is actually Hoovering on Venus from Cuckooland Ghost in the Machine. I think we've documented before.

peronmls, I wouldn't necessarily say it has to be mixed with another sample, sounds to me like the low frequencies have just been tweaked. Of course, I've been wrong before...

I didn't mean 2 samples put together i just meant its missing that one sound that wasn't present in what avith showed.

Hello SH forum, I’m new here. I read through most of the posts (well not thoroughly), and I thought I’d contribute, as I’ve had much joy in finding all these delicious samples. I got the Titanium Rhythms album 1 & 2, and I started to look through the samples. I certainly did recognized some samples from SH1 used a lot from there. I searched the names, but it appears many tracks have different names, so some of them may have been found. Anyway, here goes. :)

Pier 666: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiAay6IlUlE&t=1m45s
loop 2 0005 (rattle) + loop 2 0006 (rattle)

Oil & Blood / Never Again 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvbHIleOQDY&t=33s
loop 5 0002 + loop 24 0004 (angry hiss)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmaH7lwIW3U&t=31m05s

Sand Castle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qsOZbNugbU&t=1h19m20s
loop 14 0008

Over: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qsOZbNugbU&t=17m30s
loop 21 0002 + loop 21 0005 + loop 24 0009
(layers for the beat?)

I was really hoping to find something from “All”, “Led Into Madness” and “Oil and Blood” , as they are my favourites.

SH2
Tension: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKWK1Wd1UXI&t=19m11s
loop 9 0004

Pyramid Persuit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKWK1Wd1UXI&t=1h03m47s

Betrayal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKWK1Wd1UXI&t=2h09m31s
loop 24 0006 + loop 24 0007 + loop 29 0005
(only need the choir now)

Confronting the Beast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKWK1Wd1UXI&t=2h18m36s
loop 39 0007 (sweaky sound) + loop 39 0008

SH3
Tormented Again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmaH7lwIW3U&t=31m05s
loop 9 0001 (bell)

Missionary Ethics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmaH7lwIW3U&t=55m30s
loop 30 0001

SH4
Until the Stars Go Out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaIimIaJ0mI&t2h57m11s
loop 9 0005 (I freaking love “steam punk” o.O)

I tried my hands on some of the samples, though I’ve had 5 hours of experience tops, but I managed to get that mechanized feel squeesed out of it.

Is this supposed to resemble something by Yamaoka, or is it just something you did for fun? Just curious because it doesn't ring a bell to me. Either way, I like what you did there!

Also, welcome to the forums!

I already gutted TR 1 and 2 and submitted those samples plus much more. I really don't think there are anymore in there. I really think we found most of the samples except for a few. It's just been repeats with people finding already found samples by others.

Has anyone found the source of this sample by any chance?

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/48454461/aud/MAP000_00004.wav

It's actually the "ambience" that plays at the first part of SH1, when you're going after Cheryl. Just pitch it down by like 4 octaves..

Both actually. I used 3SH samples, and just many TR samples in general. I attempted to use the siren sound, but it didn't sit well in the mix.

Hey, I noticed there's a LOT of samples that have been found that aren't in the folder... Is an update coming soon? I do plan on getting most of these sample packs (and I actually got Bizarre Guitar, Distorted Reality, and Zero-G Ambient), but until then, having the samples would be nice.

The stuff VIVIsect uploaded does not contain them all.

Oh, okay. Is there a complete list of all the found samples as of now, or would I have to go through all of the pages to read what all people have written?

I've been working on a list for some time, but it still has quite a long way to go before it's even close to being up to date. I'm also trying to convert/rip the music for SH1 to MIDI/PSF (which I'm happy to say is looking successful so far), so I'm not entirely focused on the list as of late.

^If you ever finish, let me know and I'll stick it on the front page!

^^But yeah, for now, you'd just have to sift through the thread. I'd like to compile all the samples into one big comprehensive list, but given the number of samples listed, it would just be too time-consuming.

If you're interested in locating the samples used in a specific song, you can try using the forum search function. It's often pretty wonky, but I've found that if you specify the forum (Silent Hill Media) when searching, you'll have better luck in finding what you're looking for.
