Plank attack! (spoilers)

Post by Akheon »

Some time ago I did a playthrough on hard in which I did my best to kill every boss with the plank, with considerable success. Not because of plank being secretly something very effective against boss-characters... rather just patience. As you probably know, most of the bosses in this game either leave or suicide by themselves if certain conditions are met. The only bosses you literally have to fight are:

1. The three hangers at nightmare hospital
2. The first "doorman"
3. Eddie

And all of them can be passed by with just the plank, even if with tremendous difficulties and pains. Especially Eddie, who happens to act in a very lame manner during the second half of the fight. Only "doorman" is easy to defeat, the other two are a pain.

The final boss, if you were to fight her with plank, is impossible in my experiences on hard. I managed to defeat her on normal by tricking her to hover over the bed, from on top of which she can't attack you back. But on hard she moves just too quickly and erratically. Not to mention the moths attack about every 10 seconds.

EDIT: Apparently not. I just tried it again, and managed to survive quite easily with all the accumulated health items. Oh well... That's how memory works.

Here are a few videos which I captured during this playthrough:

Hiya :)

Since this is mostly of a "media" category I'm going to move it to Silent Hill Media for now.
I'm not dead yet, dammit.

Wow, I wish I could post the video of my fist fights in SH0. Too bad I don't have a camera.

Great fight with Eddie by the way.

I could never do that...I suck to much with the controls in SH to be able to always use the plank on anything other then easy.

Caliban, the Butcher (well, some last punches. It took a long time), the hospital jacket and the last boss are fistable.

Caliban is extremely easy.
