What is the significance of the blood on the police car?
I was just replaying Silent Hill 1 and as I was running around Old Silent Hill in First Person View I came to the police car with one of the keys in it. I got the key and ran to the front of the car and found this:
Now, I turned off First Person to see if you could see anything normally and all you can see is a bit of the blood trail and thats if the camera doesn't swing around. But you can't see the broken windscreen unless you're in First Person. Since most stuff in Silent Hill can be taken as a reference to another horror film/novel what do you reckon the blood and broken windscreen symbolises (if anything, it could just be there because one of the designers thought it would be a cool thing to put there.)
edit: fixed the photo's size.

It's "holy shit" fodder, much like the crucified bodies, to give the player a real feeling of danger. Incidentally, it doesn't look like the cop was thrown out of the car, but rather dragged out. That the cause can't be pinpointed exactly is supposed to make us feel uneasy.
Other than that, well... (shrugs)

And when being projected out the window, his own handgun shot him 12 times in the stomach, while he rolled across the bonnet of the car and beacause this cop was very fat, he just rolled down the cliff. Very slowly. Just to make sure that the blood showed.

As mentioned before, just a cop who found a dead end, hit the brakes and went flying out the windshield. It's similar to the bloody corpse at the lower end of Neely Street in SH2; you can just make your own conclusion. Who was that guy? Who knows...

I contend that the person looks to have been dragged out and thrown. Otherwise, if they just crashed through the windshield, the blood wouldn't be a prevalent on the hood, or the blood trail on the street would have been closer to the car.

^That's a pretty good idea PeachySakura.
Another thing I noticed while I was replaying Silent Hill the other day was that there weren't many police cars (I only noticed the ones surrounding the Police Station in Central Silent Hill and the one on the bridge in Old Silent Hill. I didn't see a single one in the Resort Area (although someone else on this board might have seen one). Why is that? Even if The Order were coming down hard on the police for investigating Kaufmann's drug dealing, it doesn't make sense to me to have such a small police force covering all areas of Silent Hill.
