Anyway, it isn't really a 1st person view mode. The camera just stick itself real-close to Harry's head, so you basically see what he sees whenever the view button is held down, so it's similar to a first-person view, but it's really quite similar to Resident Evil 4's view.

If only there was a target icon, could be just like The Suffering, hehe. J/k

and more documents you can read, like the book in the school and the book in the nowhere attic room.

Wow... after all the time that SH1 has been out I never knew you could play it in 1st person mode in "NEW FEAR"...

I better use 1st person view after I buy a new PS1(Mine got broken of overheating)

^Why don't you just use it in your PS2

My ps2 doesnt read ps1 games only original ones I had to unblock it to buy cheaper games, my country is too expensive hehe. I dont know kuz I never tried but a friend told me you cant save stuff from ps1 games at the ps2.

Just got into a new fear game and I am running through the game in 1st person mode mainly, (thankfully I can reverse the normal view mode so I don't have to keep pressing R2...) It is awsome, except Harry looks like he's on a case of No Doze. I cannot wait to get the chainsaw!

I think I'll do the UFO ending next.

Is it just my imagination or every Next Fear game is harder then the last one? That's what I've experienced though...

Each time you play it ups the difficulty
Easy>Normal>Hard

Wow, I just found out there's stuff in SH1 I've missed too, like the schoolbook and "1st person view"

I just played the opening scene in near-first person and I almost wet myself. The intensity of the scene in third person is multiplied by x100 in first person.

Watching the alleyway slowly darken as sirens wailed ominously in the distance, the wheelchair in the corner is even more surprising, the actual descent into darkness more immediate. The proximity of the light is more personal, as you actually feel afraid of walking into the blackness, let alone running. Seeing the bed in as Harry does gives me new chills, the crucifixtion is shocking (because, like Harry, you only see gore on the floor before seeing the figure). The brilliance of this view is that the objects and creatures appear like never before seen: in an alerting and personal manner.

And even though I knew it was coming, the attack was unbelievably terrifying. Turning around slowly and seeing the Mumblers shamble into view made me want to hug my mother, the following manic terror of trying to run away, head-firsts into fences and walls, the actual panic seen in the movie and portrayed by Radha Mitchell of only running into more walls and fences as the Mumblers close is tangible and able to experienced. As always, I reached the supposed exit only to find the dead end, screamed when the relentless pursuit of the Mumblers finally cornered me, and almost threw my PSP when they grabbed me.

I'm afraid of trying the rest of the game this way, if it's going to be that scary.

Dude, it's that good? Man...I should try it on my next playthrough...
And it works in SCENES too!? Dear god. Just.....dear god. As soon as I finish my 9 playthroughs of SH3 I am DEFINATELY trying that. Wow.

I had no idea there was a first person mode. I have to try it.

It's not literally a first person view per se, even if it's dubbed as "self view" on the game's extra menu. it's inherently a view from the back of Harry's head, and you can't turn his head around, moreover.
