Its either that or the producers and director decided at the last moment to change the scripting and locations for the characters. Notice how Dahlia is actually among the other members of the cult without being retrained or cast away.

You can also see the filming of a scene on one of the DVD's making-of features of Pyramid Head killing a miner. So yeah, there's definitely stuff that was deleted.

There was another scence on the special features part of the dvd that wasn't in the movie. I can't remember from the top of my head though... I think it had something to do with a monster, outside, and one of the females (Rose, Cybil, Anna??). I'd have to double-check the dvd to see.

There was a scene with Pyramid Head, where he was dragging Anna's skinless body into a building, then he looks up lonely-like at a window, and drops her. Then Gans starts blabbing about something else...

Supposedly, there's a deleted scene out there of Alessa exhibiting her powers in front of the other children that leads directly into the scene of her being teased in the school. The scene is supposed to involve Alessa and her classmates going butterfly-hunting and Alessa causing the butterflies to flock to her in a strange display. There are at least 2 screencaps from this deleted scene floating around the internet. Both could be found on one of Jodelle's many fansites.

Well, why didn't they do that? It seriously comes off as in the story it's just some bastard child who gets burned alive because he mom had sex outside of marriage.
I figured that they might elaborate on the sequel (if it does) where they explain Alessa's abilities. Y'know, maybe even suggest that Alessa might not be human, since the church's leader commented that Dahlia wouldn't tell them who the father was.
But, had they done this in the beginning, it might've come off as a better movie which would explain A LOT. But, I guess Gans didn't want the audience to mistrust Alessa completely.

The scene would have helped alot, but all we're left with is screencaps that leaked out. Gans mentioned a Collectors Edition he would eventually put together, so I'm hoping we'll see it on there.

You do see the butterfly scene in the film or rather a very small blurred and over exposed version of it. If you look carefully at the beginning of Alessa's explination, you can see a black figure on a white background with specs flying round her...I'll try and get a screencap.
But i agree that this scene should have been in the film

It's not the butterfly scene, it's just Alessa turning round and round looking at the other children as they tease her.

There's a scene right outside the hotel with the armless creature shooting the tar goop at cybil or anna in the making of feature somewhere. Another scene I'd liek to see if they completed

I can see these 'deleted scenes' being released on a special two disc addition in the near future.

Kind of a rip-off having to buy two copies if they are released on another version.
