[ i don't think there have been or is any topic up like this.....yet]

Ok i'm wonder if i was the only one.....

When i watched the movie "Silent Hill" I watched it as if i was playing the movie character, and i really was mad because i was mubbling in the theater each time i saw here pass something she should have pick up, for a weapon.

...."GolfClub"......."Bowlingball"........."Winebottle"....... {and yes all of those items are in the film}

did anyone else do that or was it just me.

I said the same thing. I think if she had done something differently she could haved saved Cybil. Also I find it rather funny that when Rose entered the elevator there was a short few seconds that Cybil could've followed. Every time I view the film that scene always upsets me.

Imagine if they had the devices that Batman has and ignored them, I would smack the director!

well... Rose just didn't strike me as a very combative person y'know. If she was savvy with improvised weaponry against inhuman foes, it would have been a total Ellen Ripley ripoff.

It did cross my mind to think why Cybil just didn't get into the elevator with Rose. The cult members were still petrified at the sight of her pistol pointing at them during that point.

It was an admirable effort by Gans to acknowledge the game's canon in at least one way.

I call this the Resident Evil syndrome.

Your in a room full of stuff you can use against flesh eating zombies. Like a suit of medieval armor or weapon. Yet you can only pick up the HAIRPIN because its a vital piece of some infernal puzzle.

And since when can doors withstand a grenade launcher. but I digress.

i liked how rose was unarmed almost the whole itire time, and when she was armed it fell away after a few moments. It showed her as what theywanted the "good mother", the good person. she had acess to all those weapons but refused them. It's not like she could become a killer no matter how wretched the monster.

That did also annoyme thouh, cybil choose deah-then again maybe they wanted to atlast show one of the endings so they choose either the one most peopl got(or themselves) or tey wanted it too be more tragic.

I just think you're nuts.

lol jk, I know what you mean. But if I was looking for my daughter (even if its not my real daughter), getting a bowling ball for protection would be the last thing on my mind...Mind you, a golf club, perhaps, but ehh, #1 its a movie, there are more flaws in movies than people may be aware of and 2, it may have simply just left her mind at the time...

Eh, it may just be a guy thing, i know if my kid [don't have any yet, but i would really do this] was lost someone and i saw freaky monsters. Hell i'd pick up a weapon just because the thought of a pour helpless child with no one to protect them out there.

I'ld get the weapon just because of the though. ".....ok what help am i gonna be when i find my kid......"

It did strike me as strange that Rose did basically no monster-battling in the entire movie.
She didn't encounter all that many enemies (in comparison to the games), so she probably wasn't inspired to remain on the look-out to pick up things with which to defend herself. Maybe will see more of that incorporated into the next movie...

Hopefully there won't be another movie. I hated the Silent Hill movie to no end!

It was just awful. Don't ask me to explain why. Too many reasons.

^ No one's going to ask you why. I imagine I'm not the only one who's tired of hearing people gripe about all the things that are wrong with the movie in threads that are for something else.

I'm not going to make a topic to explain how much this movie sucked.
