Re: Silent Hill: Book of Memories Soundtrack Preview
>They've also made Mary's voice sound rubbish in both< No, that's just how she sounds . No it's not. She's really over processed and covered in way too much reverb in those songs. The older songs with Akira made her sound more direct, natural and 'powerful' in the production. Also the harmonys in t...

Re: The comic books: how important are they?
Play nicely, children, or you'll be asked to go play someplace else. Martee, if you don't wish to read what Tom may or may not say, don't come back to this thread. It's that simple. Tom: welcome back. :) That wasn't what I said, what I meant was I don't care whether he answers burning questions, or...

Re: The comic books: how important are they?
While I understand your concern (no one wants to have someone easily impressionable come in here and have their thoughts and theories destroyed of something) you're jumping ton conclusions about what Tom is going to say. And although, I do believe you aren't trying to be disrespectful of him wantin...

Re: The comic books: how important are they?
Hell, people still discuss Silent Hill 1, 2, 3 and 4 to this day and I think if a dev/writer came on the forum and just announced they were going to give answers it would undermine all of the mystery, and that's a LONG time after the game was released, not 2-3 weeks after. Have you seriously never ...

Re: The comic books: how important are they?
Sometimes I feel bad for people who want to get involved with their fans. It seems like they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. And sometimes, it before they even get a chance to speak :( I'm not damning him in any way. I was just voicing my concerns as I said. Personally I don't even ...

Re: The comic books: how important are they?
This spoiler forum is here for a reason. If someone hasn't played the game, then they really have no business being here. If they do get spoiled, it's their own damn fault. You're missing my point. My point is that some people haven't even been given the chance to experience the game and think abou...

Re: The comic books: how important are they?
I'm thankful for your time, but I think it's a shame that you even feel any need to explain some of the story as in my opinion if it's something we should/need to know, then we should have all been able to obtain that information from playing the game. Considering we needed guide books and intervie...

Re: Anyone ok with Vatra doing another Silent Hill?
The fog was implemented poorly and looked like basic graphical fog for performance reasons and not like it was there for artistic reasons. So what's the problem? The first Silent Hill had fog for precisely that reason. Just because it was there for that reason doesn't mean they didn't make it look ...

Re: The comic books: how important are they?
Gang, First of all, thanks so much for your support of Silent Hill: Downpour. I really enjoy reading all you have to say, both the praise and the honest critiques. And, you are all asking some fantastic questions that I promise to address on this thread very soon. However, before I can do that, I'v...

Re: Anyone ok with Vatra doing another Silent Hill?
@Martee Did you play the game by now? Cause you got a really long con-list, considering you told us in another thread you just watched a walkthrough on youtube? I'd advise everybody to actually play the game and not judge it sorely by videos taken from the net. Nope I haven't played the full game y...

I would agree, except when he apparently 'broke' one of his rules, a shitton of monsters attacked him and left Murphy alone. Could you not just argue that there are no real rules, but because Ricks so fully believed that there were in his mind, nothing happened to him unless he broke a rule. Though...

Re: A satisfying conclu- hey, wait a minute
I think you're reading too far into tomcon's reasoning for why Anne saw Frank that way, Martee. He's not dismissing rules, he's just saying no one in Silent Hill has direct control over what is presented to them while in the Otherworld so asking "well why didn't she see him this way?" wit...

Re: A satisfying conclu- hey, wait a minute
I don't know why you're looking so desperately to find a flaw with this part of the story. There are a lot of things you could be critical of in this game, but this is not one of them. Why would Anne see him that way? Well as far as I know, you don't get to choose what silent hill projects from you...

You ran into bugs in Homecoming, I didn't run into any. However Downpour has framerate issues for everyone Actually, I didn't experience any framerate issues with Downpour. Not one. Nadda. Zip. Zilch. Soooo.... Congratulations then I guess, even if the game ran perfectly I would still argue that I ...

Re: Anyone ok with Vatra doing another Silent Hill?
So? If they can make a better product using an established engine, what does it matter? I don't judge a product based on if the engine is in-house or not, I judge it on how good it is. And your implication that Vatra was "lazy" or didn't care because they used an established engine rubs m...

Re: Anyone ok with Vatra doing another Silent Hill?
I'd also like to know, going off of your own criteria of seperating Konami from developer what your problem with Double Helix was? At least Homecoming ran properly. You sure about that? Because I'm pretty sure I ran into a game-breaking glitch in Homecoming that caused me to have to restart the ent...

Re: No sound options no surround sound?
what kind of sound system do you have? I have a samsung 5.1 and the game sounds great. I know it doesnt say 5.1 on the back cover but it sure sounds like 5.1 surround when I play the game I don't know how many channels of sound Downpour runs at but I do know that quite a few 5.1 and above systems w...

Re: A satisfying conclu- hey, wait a minute
I mean, ffs silent hill creates living incarnations of abstract ideas and feelings of guilt. Pretty sure it can make a vegetable move around again... Except as far as I am aware it's not really Silent Hill that creates the manifestation it's the persons mind. Silent Hill just helps by making it 're...

Re: MC Hammer is not the new Pyramid Head
So... I have been thinking about this for a while, and yeah, MC Hammer really is the new Pyramid Head. Large male character Doesn't speak Oversized weapon Shows up in multiple areas before fighting him Obscured face Represents somebody's guilt/shame Kills other monsters Very subtle sexual subtext (...
