Re: First proper trailer for Ascension with plot details
I wish I were hearing more buzz about this, with the live event coming up tonight(?). I went to the site, and it looks like it's currently down and being worked on. This felt like an odd concept from the pitch, but I'm open-hearted about it, and was hoping to tune in. Anyone else have a better bead ...

Re: Is $47 a good deal for SH1...case + booklet?
My local game shop just got copies of 1-4 in. The original Silent Hill is going for $75 disc-only. Thankfully my original I bought on launch day is still complete in box and functional, but I'm tempted to spring for a backup one of these days, with digital marketplaces being the way they are.

Doesn’t fill me with excitement, but hey, I’ll give it a chance. Oof.

Re: TWO New SH Games In Development??? (New SH Game Rumours)
When you do things like delay Silent Hill 2 Remake from Q4 2022 to Q? 2023, you're going to have predicted revenue drops. Almost everything Konami have in the works is either rather late (Silent Hill The Short Message was meant to release in Q4 2021) or shows signs of missing initial deadlines (the...

Re: PSP or PS2?
Just got my PS2 copy from Ebay. I've got my PS2 running through a RetroTINK, so it should be interesting to compare a scanline presentation to the PSP. I'll report back if I find anything interesting.

Re: New Interview with Ito, Yamaoka, and Okamoto
- Their urge to showcase the remake's highly detailed 4K environments seems to indicate that the range of visibility will be far greater compared to the original. So we will be able to see enemies further away than before... I haven't seen the video yet, so apologies if the answer's obvious. But wh...

VR fan here too. That said, I believe it’s safe to assume that any expression of SH in VR would be comfortably in the “opt-in alternative way to play” category, like RE 7 + 8, rather than bespoke VR experiences unavailable in other formats.

Re: Heather is pretty tall
There's nothing official for Harry or James, of course, though we can look at the standard door height in the U.S. ( 80"/6' 8 ) and get a fairly good estimate. Developers take quite a bit of liberty with empirical scale, for various reasons, so I wouldn't put too much stock in relative heights...

^ Pretty sure crossing that 20,000 posts threshold means you'd bypass the interview entirely.

Doesn't feel very interesting if it's not something that can only be found in Silent Hill. Otherwise, any ol' book store should be fine. Maybe there was something special about that particular copy?

Re: Extra Content Yay/Nay/What?
If Bloober'd just add a third, they could form a full-on pyramid of Red Pyramid Things. On topic, for the things I value in games, probably the most meaningful addition to me would be the suggested idea of opening up additional locked doors. Let me sop up all the world-building detail I can, and the...

Re: TWO New SH Games In Development??? (New SH Game Rumours)
Their names being attached also feels like a form of 'fanbase surrogate' to foster confidence that a remake would do genuine service to the source material. They're the source of the source material, to an extent.

Re: James' missing ring
I have a two friends who wear it on the right hand, but they're both tradesmen who wear it on their non-dominant hand, and they're both left-handed. I've heard similar things about watches, wearing it on your non-dominant hand to minimize likelihood of bonking it into things when workin' with tools ...

That description from the CEO re: Ascension… good grief. One’d be hard pressed to articulate the whole idea in a way that appealed less to me. I’m clearly not the target audience, but yikes. See, personally that description increased my interest in Ascension. It's nice that there's something coming...

For reals! Speculation, with and without basis, has been a welcome gust of energy these past months.
