That's so cool. I've been checking Amoeba imported discs just to see if I come across these editions by chance.
By the way, anyone notice how the BluRay in the US is inferior to the DVD in terms of content. I'm talking the first movie. The BluRay lacks the featurette.

Wow. I suck at this game now.
I remember when I bought the UMD for my PSP 1000 the day Origins came out, I breezed through the game using only guns and my fists. I revisited this game digitally on my Vita and, shit, I suck now. I'm at the sanitarium and already used most health items and weapons. I even resorted to the throwing ...

Have anyone of you taken the time to read the signs?
I'm replaying Downpour. My first playthrough, I skipped some signs. This time, I'm reading and doing everything.
Some of the signs are really interesting. Especially in the Devil's Pit.

Re: Where it all began !!!!
I liked the first film, didn't love it. I found the atmosphere to be near perfect in replication. But the script was severely lacking a lot. Poor dialogue, odd character choices, and the idea to turn it into a witch hunt? What was Avery thinking. I liked turning Harry into Rose, hated Gans reasoning...

Re: Skipped items
I don't recall skipping anything important. I just sometimes forgot to mash X every square virtual foot and didn't find things I knew were there. Resident Evil taught me to mash X on every piece of furniture and item on the wall, every stain and displaced book. It's become a force of habit.

Re: I'm not at all interested in playing this game.
The original had the heaviest atmosphere and sound design for me. I loved it. The metallic ambiance with the crude graphics and original creatures... :) Sure, it took me a long time to understand the story wholly, but it's so worth it. To disregard the original Silent Hill for any reason should be a...

Re: Silent Hill 2 movie
I sort of agree with Mephisto. Sort of. Yes, I too prefer they adapt rather than clone the stories. Make changes, make it your own. All while keeping the spirit of the source. The first Silent Hill almost did this. Visually, it was near perfect. But the writing was atrocious. That's where Mephisto a...

Re: New Indie game Centralia?
Although I would love a Silent Hill successor out there, I agree that it being modelled after PT is unnerving. I played Layers of Fear and that satisfied the itch. Now, I want to go back to third-person. Hell, even Resident Evil did the PT first-person jump. I liked Downpour and Book of Memories, so...

Re: Speedrun (any%/UFO%)
I could never speed run any Silent Hill game. I always get distracted or forget a puzzle.
I think SHSM would be the best to speed run since the game is mainly running away from things and the puzzles, for the most part, are the easiest of any Silent Hill game.
Those times are really impressive.

I know nothing of game deving or coding. Here's my stab in the dark.
Could be that the audio file ran its length and there were no instructions in the code to reset until the room is reloaded?

One of my favorite Silent Hill scenes
This is one of my favorite scenes out of the franchise. Such a small character death amplified by the music. And the exchange, except for the "are you okay?" line, just makes me pity them. I wish I could have used this scene in Silent Hill 302.

That stupid stick falling sound in the subway bathroom... it's so stupid, but it startled the shit out of me. I inspected that bathroom in every nook and cranny for the source of that sound.

Re: Are you enjoyed combat system on a easy difficulty level
^^ That was one of the most frustrating things about those huge side quests that required the whole town to be open. You'd lose everything almost immediately after completing the quests. Made all the effort absolutely pointless. I wish you could go back to the town after you had beat the game or un...

Yeah, I'm quite proud of it. It just needs to get read. I submitted it to two film festivals in the horror category for screenplays. I hope it gets some recognition. I really feel Silent Hill 302 (that's the title) would satisfy horror fans and Silent Hill fans.Deafnproud wrote:A screenplay? Wow that is so cool!!

Re: Where it all began !!!!
Now that we're at this point in the franchise, I'd be highly amused if a third movie came out that was based on one of the later games and handed it its ass. It's what I'm trying to accomplish. A Silent Hill movie that makes up for Revelations' being such a crap movie. At least the first one had at...

I too am intrigued.
That's why I wrote a feature length screenplay about him. It isn't canon to the games, but does serve as a spiritual companion to the game as in it parallel SH4 with a surreal timeline. It's been called complex and disturbing.

Re: Silent Hill 2 images in 3D for VR and Anaglyph glasses
Sounds interesting. Too bad I can't find my anaglyph glasses and I don't have any VR to try this. I do recall Downpour had a 3D option for 3D TVs.
