Re: Downpour Review Thread
IGN gave it a 4.5, but who takes them seriously anymore? http://ie.ps3.ign.com/articles/122/1220529p1.html Ow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IGN gets a lot of bashing, but a 4.5 is pretty much A death blow to me! If they give it a 4.5, then there must be something wrong with it. TwinPerfect fans will rejo...

Re: Pre-order bonuses
A figurine or the soundtrack would be great IMO. But I truly hope that free DLC isn't the case. In fact, I want no DLC for Downpour, or any SH game in the future. DLC just isn't for a SH game... Honestly, who thinks DLC is a good idea for SH? I'm serious. Could someone with an opposing viewpoint gi...

Re: [Seriously] I think I know the final twist
Murphy and his kid was driving during the rain and got into an accident. The child of the other driver died and the driver himself got put in a wheel chair. This part will change (if what Aura said was true) to if he was driving recklessly/drunk to being a true accident/other drivers fault. Murphy ...

Re: Downpour Difficulty System Explained at PAX.
It sounds like it's following the older method of play, with the separate sliders, and the ability to change them mid-game is a welcome change. I agree that it would be nice. I have a habbit of refusing to look up the answer to a puzzle of I am stumped and SH3's hospital keypad peom puzzle was the ...

Re: Lots of gameplay (E3 footage)
I had to roll my eyes a little at seeing yet another overturned wheelchair with a wheel still turning on the roof of that building. We've been there and done that. Twice. From the few parts we've seen, they seem to have done a good job of avoiding many of the tired SH cliches (i.e. Nurses and hospi...

Re: New E3 2011 Trailer
They showed us things so far that really imply a lot. I think: a bit too much --> a prisonier, extremely feminine monsters.. it really can't be more sightly than this- remorse, punishment. "Murder' s a mortal sin, you go to hell for murder." Too much of covered field for a 2nd trailer, do...

Re: Can't believe this hasn't been discussed further......
I though it was talked about earlier. Well maybe not in this thread. Hopefully Vatra finishes with the main story line and polishes that up as well as get that done first. Side quests are fun, but cutting main content for side quests is a very stupid thing to do. I would rather have them polish the...

Re: Can't believe this hasn't been discussed further......
Here's a question that hasn't been brought up yet: Vatra has said that there will be 15-20 sidequests. That's potentially a lot of content. Now, sidequests are supposed to be optional... but if these quests are skipped, will the game's main narrative still be satisfying? This seems like a legitimat...

Re: Can't believe this hasn't been discussed further......
I mean really, would some one searching for their daughter/wife/brother/whatever would really search every single garbage can or every nook and cranny to find random information? Because that has basically been happening since the first silent hill. None of the Silent Hill games I ever played requi...

Re: Can't believe this hasn't been discussed further......
Yeah, but why would Murphy go through all that? How would the game explain why any of that is relevant enough to Murphy's dilemma to justify the diversion? That's why I say this doesn't work in a narrative-driven game: whatever happens has to complement the narrative. Suspension of disbelief is cru...

Re: Can't believe this hasn't been discussed further......
The "plot" in the side quests could be more related to the area you are in. Before, there would just be memos that would talk about what people did in places or what happened there (not all of which you can reach). Now, we could explore the memos and the area deeper. An example I could qui...
