Re: Anyone else wish this followed the same style as SM?
I dunno, I always felt combat felt out of place in SH games. It's kind of silly to have the protagonist facing some sort of supernatural hellbeast, only to slay it with a fucking 2x4. The worst-of-the-worst was in Origins, where Travis could punch the unholy abominations in the face as if they were...

Re: No akira?
Agreed. There are plenty of good - no great - scary games that were made by western studios (Manhunt comes immediatly to mind. . . . .Granted it ain't really a horror game, but it is very dark and tense).

Re: How did you feel when the game ended?
If there's one thing I love, it's when someone oversimplifies a complex work and criticizes the result they invented, as if someone could not possibly do that to every story ever written. A dad trying to save his daughter? Crazy cults? How many millions of times has that been done? Man, the first S...

Re: How did you feel when the game ended?
^ That is just another reason that I so dislike SHSM. The story seems so fucking cliche to me. I mean, no matter what ending you get it's still all basically the same. The main character is actually dead (oh no, we've never seen that before). It's all an illusion, or a lie or whatever you want to ca...

Freeflow? I have to admit that would be. . . .Unexpected. Could you imagine getting attacked by like ten to fifteen monsters and you just start flipping over them, performing Bruce Lee kicks (I like to call them the "WAH-TAHHH" kicks) and crushing a monsters' clenched fist in the palm of y...

Re: Who else was disappointed by Homecoming?
I said it was OK and I stand by that vote. I felt it was better than "meh". After all, it was pretty much what I had expected. I knew going in that they were going to borrow from the movie, because, from a business standpoint, it just makes sense to do so. I knew the combat was going to pl...

Re: Is This Game Killing Silent Hill?
I couldn't stand the original Siren. . . .Granted that I haven't played it since I was like twelve (which meant I had like zero tolerance for high difficulty), so with that in mind, I've been thinking of trying my hand at it again (I like to think that I'm a better gamer now) seeing as how I have mu...

Re: Alessa: good or evil [spoilers for SH1 and SH3]
Good and evil are such relative terms, are they not? I geuss I would be inclined to say that she is neutral. . . .The only problem with that is that I don't believe in moral neutrallity (Is that how you spell that word. . . .Is it even a word) so I, sadly, cannot fall back on such an answer. I believe that is a far more plausible explanation. I had never really thought of it before this thread (I always just assumed it was some kind of ghosts or something) but your theory is by far the most likely.

Something that is throwing me off. So far everyone seems to be excited about the fact that you get to explore the town on a deeper level but seem split on the whole sidequest situation. Now this dosen't make any sense to me because what would you prefer? Having all of that wonderful nightmare of a t...

Granted, but aside from Sheva and Josh (whom I harbor a deep seeded hatred toward), you're killing them all. So I'm not really sure if that counts.
. . . . .Does anyone else realize how off topic this thread has gotten, maybe we should start talking about the game again before it's too late.

Well that is just not true. There's plenty of black people in videogames, like, for example, there's. . . .Ummmm, well there's. . . . .Wait, give me a minuete. . . . There's, uhhhhhh, there's that - no, that doesn't count. . . . Ummm. . . . .Well. . . . There's that guy in Bayonetta. . . . .But I do...

@Yuki. I would consider this more of the exception rather than the rule, however, because just like how you can't please all of the people all of the time, neither can you DISPLEASE all of the people all of the time. It's. . . .It's like a presidential administration, no matter how terribly he may r...
