Re: I Saw It! Post Your Reviews Here!
As no other people are shown entering the town and being victimized at random (everyone else is obviously connected to Heather in some way), nor is this idea ever brought up or hinted at at any (other) point in the movie, I don't see why it is important that this be demonstrated, hence I do not thi...

Re: I Saw It! Post Your Reviews Here!
Going to see it again to see how I feel afterward. After my initial viewing I'm a bit let down. Thoughts: As a 3D thrill-ride it's pretty great. A lot of 3D effects are wonderfully done and seeing familiar Silent Hill environments in an extra dimension was worth admission price. The sets were fantas...

Re: I Saw It! Post Your Reviews Here!
@ the Heather/Vincent incest: Vincent is Alessa's cousin....not Heather's! In the game universe it's clear that Cheryl is different from Alessa. A big turning point in Heather's character is her self-identification as Cheryl RIGHT AFTER defeating a giant metaphor for Alessa. Seeing as her entire arc...

First review is up on rotten tomatoes and ...it's fresh! Though still a C+. Blurb: "This movie is highly stylized, beautifully rendered in spots, but a narrative mess. Fans of the game and previous movies should love this. Harington and Clemons are future stars." Review: http://eclipsemaga...

Re: A pair of reviews for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.
It is a FWWM reference. :D And I kindof agree that Silent Hill 3 isn't about story. The first part isn't, anyway. The second part is pretty significant in terms of canon while ALSO telling a sort of standalone self-exploration story. But I do agree the first film handled plot better than the first g...

Re: A pair of reviews for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.
^ All agreed with. There are things in Silent Hill 3 that are really just there to look cool, sortof like 3D in the film. The graphics are a huge, huge part of that game, and the haunted house you mention is a big example of flourishes of that sort. There are some subtleties in the plot but they are...

Re: Third movie, new story?
There's too much on the line for that. A producer won't give it a chance and there'd be too much pressure from the fanbase for it to be good; if it sucks, this approach will be dismissed in videogame adaptions from hereon. And I think Silent Hill 2 or 4 should come next, because I really want to see...

Re: A pair of reviews for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.
Did you think Sin City was boring? To be fair, adapting a comic book to film is way easier since a comic book could become a giant storyboard for the director if they were going to go that faithful (eg, some shots in watchmen mirror the panels exactly). If we were to adapt SH3 faithfully we'd have ...

Re: I swear I just had my own Revelation...
All of what's been suggested would be way too convoluted.
I just think it's a nod to the fact that the town works as something you have to journey through.

Re: Before you see SH:R...
I expect that the 3D, despite the naysayers, will be really cool. Who wouldn't want an immersive technology to make them feel like they're actually in Silent Hill? For that alone I'm going to have nerd orgasms. But I think it'll be a good movie overall as well, combining a lot of things I like from ...

Re: New TV Spot
Yeah, the guy in bondage seems..a little random considering that Basset wanted the monsters to be meaningful. I mean, I know bondage imagery has been in the games before, but usually with things stripped of humanity. For instance, you never see the face of the nurse Valtiel carries around.

Re: Early Viewing
I sent him a pm asking for specifics, and this is the response I got. There is so much I'd like to know about the screening you saw. Did Bassett stay true to the concept of Sharon/Alessa/Dark Alessa as one person split into three bodies? Is Heather the complete Alessa? What happened to Rose? Did Ba...

Re: Official runtime
Exactly! There is NO way Silent Hill 2's story is more complicated. It just takes longer to reveal the truth. It is pretty straight forward once you have the facts. The third game (SH3) is actually more complicated in terms of plot, revelations, characters, and motives! Heather is a deeper and more...
